Lotusguy Posted April 21, 2015 Posted April 21, 2015 Where were you in our peso country C man? Calgary one night and Vancouver one night - short one... 1
Popular Post sengjc Posted April 24, 2015 Popular Post Posted April 24, 2015 This year's release of the Glenmorangie Private Edition series: the Glenmorangie Tusail. Finally, it is released in Australia. Also a couple of independent bottlings of the Bunnahabhain, a 22 year old bottled at cask strength by Duncan Taylor and another (final) bottle of the 2015 World Whisky Awards winner: Kavalan Solist Vinho Barrique. I think I have enough bottles of the 2015 World Whisky Award winner. 5

dangolf18 Posted May 3, 2015 Posted May 3, 2015 Haha! Last bottle. You have no idea how cheap this was. Couldn't resist.Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 3
JohnS Posted May 3, 2015 Posted May 3, 2015 Haha! Last bottle. You have no idea how cheap this was. Couldn't resist. From the image it looks like Costco, or similar. My wife imaged prices (of bottles) a few months ago from our Sydney store and I was impressed!

sengjc Posted May 4, 2015 Posted May 4, 2015 A bottle of the Society bottling 124.4 dubbed: "Full of secret pleasures". This is a 17 year old Japanese malt whisky from the Miyagikyo distillery that has been matured in a first fill sherry butt. Hard to really tell with the green tinged glass bottle but judging from the colour and available web info, it may well have been a Pedro Ximenez sherry butt. 4
fookite Posted May 6, 2015 Posted May 6, 2015 Found another one of these. Cheaper than the OB 12 and all around better IMHO. 2
TM-US Posted May 6, 2015 Posted May 6, 2015 Yep. 142 USDWow, that's cheap. Where was this? I wish the NJ or DE Costcos sold decent stuff.

Hey seng, is that a current society bottling?
JohnS Posted May 6, 2015 Posted May 6, 2015 I was inspired by our friend, sengjc! This was especially difficult to find but I feel it was worth the hassle of shipping interstate. 3
sengjc Posted May 6, 2015 Posted May 6, 2015 Hey seng, is that a current society bottling? It's a 2014/2015 release, depending on your country. In Australia it only just got released. Not so sure the American chapter. According to Nonjatta, the Japanese whisky site, it was supposed to be a 2014 release for the Japanese chapter.
sengjc Posted May 6, 2015 Posted May 6, 2015 Found a really good price for these locally and decided give them a go. I have tried the Laphroaig Cairdeas 2014 before and quite enjoyed it - the sweetness and fruit from the finishing cask works extremely well with the Laphroaig salty-peatiness. The Speyburn Solera 25 Year Old is an older and probably discontinued release. 3

Are you a member? I guess I should PM you....

fokker4me Posted May 7, 2015 Posted May 7, 2015 Found an old 1.75 bottle of HH BiB on a bottom shelf waiting around for a while. Very pleasant stuff indee, today I'm sure this goes into fancy packaging and a few years older for triple the price. 2
TM-US Posted May 7, 2015 Posted May 7, 2015 I'm not, I ask a friend who is. How come the US Chapter does not get Japanese whisky? I don't know why, it's a shame. We don't get some cool stuff that British members get, either. I have a way around that one, though.
sengjc Posted May 7, 2015 Posted May 7, 2015 The first 18 Year Old distillery bottling from the Arran distillery. 2
dangolf18 Posted May 7, 2015 Posted May 7, 2015 Wow, that's cheap. Where was this? I wish the NJ or DE Costcos sold decent stuff. SF Bay Area Costco.
sengjc Posted May 7, 2015 Posted May 7, 2015 SF Bay Area Costco. Certainly, the American Costco is superior to the Australian Costco.
