A few recent acquisitions 1980s bottlings of Glenfiddich 15 and 18. 1980s bottling of Macallan 12 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

My summer planned trip to Cuba was scuppered so I did the next best thing... a whisky buying trip/tour of Scotland! Had a great week with a mix of rain and glorious sunshine. Some great pick ups too -

Blanton's gold US release

The 12Y is also a beginners dram, if you ask me. 18y is vastly superior but the price is just silly.

I know- the 12y is solid, but not really my thing.

Yamazaki 18, OTOH, is very good stuff. I don't quite get why the price has gone from $125 to $225 in a couple years, though. They must be following Macallan's lead.

I prefer Hakushu 12 over Yamazaki and Hibiki at that age.

This first one was a gift from a generous bolt (Brother Beach). The second one is something I got the other day.

Very nice- Stagg in Canada is probably nearly impossible to get, considering how hard it is to get here. Hibiki 21 is some very nice stuff.

Yeah you right, customers here in AB don't get a chance to get them before the employees snag them all, pappys included. The Hibiki 21 is not sold here in CAD as far as I'm aware. Its was picked up in duty free and bombed to me.

That sucks, here the liquor store owners usually sell to their best customers as a goodwill/loyalty gesture.

The real jerks are the stores that mark it up and sell it for a stupid amount of money- they don't get my business at all.

Mr Beaver brought me present from Munich. My favorite! Cannot find it anywhere around here anymore.

And the giant bag of chocolates are a nice touch too... love.giflove.giflove.gif

Now before you start pelting your quaichs at me, in all fairness, I was out shopping for Christmas ham and turkey when I chanced upon this.

For AUD$99 I figured it is worth a shot at least.

Been wanting to do this all year.

Pulled the pin on a bottle of Glenmorangie 25 year old which I'll have one or two glasses on new years eve with a Partagas Gran Reserva.

Also got a bottle of Glenmorangie Astar which I'm having a glass of now, very nice lip smacking stuff.

And a bottle of Diplomatico Reserva rum, I'm not a rum drinker at all but this stuff is nice.

The kind of Christmas shopping I can cope with, Cadenhead's Clynelish 24 year old for my Dad, and a cheeky bottle of rum for, well, me.

Like Santa, only comes to town once a year. But if you are good boys and girls, and maybe you know in advance and race to the LCBO, you might be lucky! Matthew was and scored not one, but two!
