TM-US Posted December 14, 2014 Share Posted December 14, 2014 The 12Y is also a beginners dram, if you ask me. 18y is vastly superior but the price is just silly.I know- the 12y is solid, but not really my thing.Yamazaki 18, OTOH, is very good stuff. I don't quite get why the price has gone from $125 to $225 in a couple years, though. They must be following Macallan's lead. I prefer Hakushu 12 over Yamazaki and Hibiki at that age. Pulled the pin on a bottle of Glenmorangie 25 year old which I'll have one or two glasses on new years eve with a Partagas Gran Reserva. Also got a bottle of Glenmorangie Astar which I'm having a glass of now, very nice lip smacking stuff.
