A few recent acquisitions 1980s bottlings of Glenfiddich 15 and 18. 1980s bottling of Macallan 12 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

My summer planned trip to Cuba was scuppered so I did the next best thing... a whisky buying trip/tour of Scotland! Had a great week with a mix of rain and glorious sunshine. Some great pick ups too -

Blanton's gold US release

Nice! That bottle of Mezan rum looks very interesting. Please let me know what you think of it when you've given it a try.

It's new to me, bought it on a whim to go with the Bourbon. Will open it at the weekend and let you know!

Actually have yet to have it probably try it today, but if it lives up to half the hype I will be happy. Is the cask of dreams Glenfiddich? I had some not to long ago.. I believe '11 batch was not over impressed for the prices. I'll let you know once I pour a dram.

Yes, Glenfiddich. I bought them because it is the Canada one. I think it is 2012.

Since Clear Creek just sold the business, I had to stock up a little. Plus Costco just got in Talisker Storm which I've been meaning to try. post-7384-13918784719473.jpg

I was going to ask the same question...I could not imagine drinking it, just to sweet. But over vanilla ice cream sounds good to me.Looks like you have some other fruity stuff there as well enjoy.

Thanks! Their fruit brandy is pretty good (I'm spoiled by the awesome fruit brandy available in Germany but you can't get them here) and the liqueurs are good for desert toppings or for the ladies ;)

I've used a Huckleberry Liqueur before for cooking in sauces for wild game and for dessert toppings.

I miss living in an area able to get great whiskey. People around here think Lord Calvert and Windsor Canadian is the gold standard with Crown Royal being what high rollers drink. Every time I'm in an area where there is good booze to be had I'm usually on another mission and I never get a chance to stop.

Talisker Storm the smoked whiskey?? What do you think? I believe i have a bottle somewhere.. tongue.png

I don't believe it is smoked? Talisker is a bit peaty and this one is supposed to be more in-your-face, but frankly, I think it's just advertising to be able to sell a NAS bottle for more money than the regular 10YO... It will be a while before I get around to tasting it but when I do, I'll try to report back.

I had it before. It is interesting, pure maritime and peat with profile without the balancing malt in a surprisingly light body for such a strong profile combination.

Personally, I prefer the 10 YO to the Storm as I think it has more balance and body.

Then again, your preference may differ.

I bought 2 bottles of Devils cask some time ago and the price on them went through the roof latley, sold one recently and I think I´m keeping the last one.
