My summer planned trip to Cuba was scuppered so I did the next best thing... a whisky buying trip/tour of Scotland! Had a great week with a mix of rain and glorious sunshine. Some great pick ups too -

300$ a bottle so I cleaned them out of their stock! They needed the money and well these bottles went to good friends of mine!

Toasted Harrell seems to be growing, it has always been scotch thing as opposed to charred barrel bourbon. 

It makes sense because bourbon is aged short term. The charred barrels allow more sugars to pervade the spirit. Where as scotch is aged long term (mostly) which means you eant less char and more wood influence.

Doing the opposite always had me intrigued (charred scotch and toasted bourbon).

I havent been able to find these. Please update us.

This toasted barrel makes this bourbon very tasty and a pleasure to drink! If you can find it grab it and you won't be disappointed!
