Bolivars with Glenmorangie it's like a candy shop.

Cohibas with Oban big boys need big toys.

Upmans with Dalwhinnie it just works

Cheers

Had a Boli PC with some Glenmorangie 10yr and it was pretty stellar.

I like to pair my RAs with Balvenie. Got a bottle of Balvenie 14yr Carribean Cask, paired it with a RASS.... NOM! Had an RA Extra EL with some Balvenie Doublewood 12yr, nom nom nom as well.

I've gotta try the Balvenie and RAs

I can't help but feel that RA's strong profile would overpower the subtleties that The Balvenie has to offer. I'd go for a Talisker 10yo or a Dalmore Gran Reserva.

1. Glenmorangie 10 yo: (Highland) There is NO BETTER young Scotch at any price point.

2. Bruichladdich 20 YO (FIRST Edition). Non-peated (Islay) at its finest. Later editions are ACE'd/finished in other than Bourbon re-fill casks and are in my opinion just goofy marketing ploys :-(

3. Ben Nevis. (Highland) If you can find it-- it's the ONLY Scotch as far as I can tell which has a distinctive trademark albeit subtle chocolate hint on the finish.

4. Springbank. (Campbeltown) All of it.

5. Highland Park. (Coastal) Northern most distillery in Scotland. Mildly peated sherry cask alternative to Macallan. Go with the 18 YO for the best bang for your buck.

6. Glenrothes. (Highland) Go for the older Vintages i.e. 1972 or 1973. Orange peel, spice and everything nice. Not a good value but your money will have been well-spent!

7. Glenfarclas. (Highland) 21 0r 25 YO. Think RICH German Stollen Xmas Cake in spades!

8. Isle of Jura. Birthplace of Orwell's '1984' and home to more deer than people. Great stuff!

9. Balbair: Coastal (Highland) goodness.

10. Rosebank. If you can find it. Probably the finest (Lowland) scotch ever produced.
