riazp Posted July 25, 2011 Posted July 25, 2011 I hear ya FJ...the dukes I have are duds...these el's take a few yearas before becoming good...but I doubt any amount of aging will help the duke.
jfire Posted July 25, 2011 Posted July 25, 2011 Punch Punch BLP OCT 07 Terrible. And I've heard from a few others the same thing with the same box code. Bitter as all he((.
Scdalak Posted July 25, 2011 Posted July 25, 2011 RyJ Duke! MOA SEP 09, Zero flavor! I think the next time I'm out bar hopping on the bike in Asbury Park, I'll throw the last two in Wesley Lake or right into the Atlantic!!! +1 I have same Box, flavor is fine, but every stick is plugged tighter than the next, almost unsmokable, even the most seasoned porn star couldnt suck the smoke out of these babies..
ksblazer Posted July 25, 2011 Posted July 25, 2011 Sadly my 2002 Partagas Lonsdales are now flat!! They were stellar 3 years ago and I figured that they would only get better. At least that is what MRN claimed? So now my theory is to smoke your cigars when you feel that they are in their prime. Don't wait for them to get "even better" . A bird in the hand is better than 2 in the bush as they say.
thechenman Posted July 25, 2011 Posted July 25, 2011 I picked up a Nub sampler box, just for kicks. Not good... I actually quite enjoy the maduro NUb.
beamer Posted July 25, 2011 Posted July 25, 2011 Would be interesting to see if anyone wanted to trade some of these unwanted cigars for other unwanted cigars. Maybe different palates would prefer these unwanted cigars.
Puros Y Vino Posted July 25, 2011 Posted July 25, 2011 I hear ya FJ...the dukes I have are duds...these el's take a few yearas before becoming good...but I doubt any amount of aging will help the duke. Hmmm odd. My Dukes have been full of cherry wood flavours with no draw problems. Maybe we should exchange box codes to see where impressions land on this release.
riazp Posted July 26, 2011 Posted July 26, 2011 Fake Esplendidos from a lifeguard on Varadero beach. I keep them for this one particular mooch who tells me "I only smoke Cohibas". He loves them...ha. He offered to buy it a few times, but I'd rather just give him some sticks here and there for free. I cant bring myself to telling him they are fake or asking for any money for them.Actually, they have come in handy about 20 times over the years....people think I'm the most generous guy around! HAHA So they're not real? you bastid! lol
n2advnture Posted July 26, 2011 Posted July 26, 2011 RyJ Belis...I'm always disappointed and have had more "soapy" cigars with them
ramon_cojones Posted July 26, 2011 Posted July 26, 2011 Surprised at the mel sig ivs being tight. For me it's the mga '10 hu 2s, had one that was completely flavorless, mild, wind tunnel etc but it looked great! Will reserve judgment until I have another.
randomhero1090 Posted July 26, 2011 Posted July 26, 2011 RyJ Belis...I'm always disappointed and have had more "soapy" cigars with them Never bought a box, but smoked 2 and they were just so "blah." In fact, other than the Short and Wide Churches, I haven't had a lot of luck with RyJ.
Cigar Connoisseur Posted July 27, 2011 Posted July 27, 2011 Id ditch the fake box of P2's I got from my B&M..... Man, I knew better...
