CBL Posted July 18, 2011 Posted July 18, 2011 Dalia and Robusto. But it was a coin flip between the Robusto and Petit Corona. Dalia because it's just a beautiful size to relax and fully enjoy the flavors the cigar has to offer. Robusto because every once in a while a robusto just hits the spot of any cigar craving
Wil Posted July 18, 2011 Posted July 18, 2011 PC and robusto for me too, as both take an hour or so to smoke, which is about as long as I usually have to enjoy a cigar. If I can find the time, I prefer to light up a corona gorda, dalia etc.
markmurase Posted July 18, 2011 Posted July 18, 2011 I've just made my vote for the Churchill and Robusto. I see Churchill isn't getting much support. What a shame. Common all you lovers of the Sir Winston & Esplendido out there in the forum, come and vote for it
Stalebread Posted July 18, 2011 Posted July 18, 2011 Corona Gorda (Is that really a surprise ?)Dalia, Lonsdale ( for the comfort) These are the two that I ticked off, too. Belicoso/Piramide is a close third.
laranced Posted July 18, 2011 Posted July 18, 2011 Robusto all the way. But willing to hit anything else.
Bunner Posted July 18, 2011 Posted July 18, 2011 I love robustos when I have the time and like petit coronas when Im a little short on it.
Sawyer Posted July 18, 2011 Posted July 18, 2011 I picked Skinnies and Dalia/Lonsdales because that is what I prefer to smoke. Anything over about 44 RG is just not my thing. I didn't realize Robustos were still so popular. No wonder HSA is mainly coming out with ridiculously large cigars and discontinuing all the reasonably sized smokes.
Ginseng Posted July 18, 2011 Posted July 18, 2011 I picked petit coronas and churchill. The first is so easily handling and satisfying for the time investment and if I wanted more, I'd light up a second. Or third. The second, classic in proportion, substantial in mass without being grotesque. A sentimental and structural favorite. Wilkey
BobLobLaw Posted July 18, 2011 Posted July 18, 2011 Dalias and corona gordas for me. PC, skinnies tied for third
bassman Posted July 18, 2011 Posted July 18, 2011 Petite coronas & lonsdales- with DCs on a long drive.
thechenman Posted July 18, 2011 Posted July 18, 2011 For me it would be Corona Gordas and Dahlias with Petit Coronas coming in a close third.
sg1234 Posted July 18, 2011 Posted July 18, 2011 I voted for: skinnies - based on my love of lanceros (Parti SdC1, Monte Especial) and Cohiba Coronas Especiales petit coronas - because I haven't tried a PC I didn't like. I can always go for a PC! I could have also easily voted for corona, corona gorda, and dalia/lonsdale. Love those sizes as well.
greenpimp Posted July 18, 2011 Posted July 18, 2011 PC and Dalia/ Lonsdale. It's what I smoke the most of, for time and flavor intensity due to the ring size.
j0z3r Posted July 19, 2011 Posted July 19, 2011 PC and Dalia/ Lonsdale. It's what I smoke the most of, for time and flavor intensity due to the ring size. My picks as well. The dalia is a certainty for me, on the other I could go with any flavor of corona really.
aavkk Posted July 19, 2011 Posted July 19, 2011 PC's and Dalia's here but the Corona Gorda can easily be in there.
dB69 Posted July 19, 2011 Posted July 19, 2011 Coronas, lonsdales, skinnies and petit coronas. When visiting any cigarshop it is getting harder and harder to find my favourites amongst the massive amount of robustos and other "muscle-vitolas".
cigarmonologues Posted July 19, 2011 Posted July 19, 2011 I'm with you there dB69. Whilst I can usually find some of the more slender gauges, I'm becoming increasingly concerned that an inordinate percentage of new releases (Cuban or otherwise) seem to be in the 50+ RG bracket, whilst all of the deletions are from the sub-50 RG brakcet. I'm just starting up a new import business in the UK, and have had to tell several cigar companies that I'm not interested because they have no sensibly proportioned cigars - let's face it, how often to we have time to sit down and properly enjoy a cigar that's 7"x56...
Hugomarink Posted July 20, 2011 Posted July 20, 2011 I voted robusto and corona gorda because I find those sizes are plugged/tight less often than other sizes.
Sir Diggamus Posted July 23, 2011 Posted July 23, 2011 Half corona and Dalia/Lonsdale for me. I love half coronas with a cup of tea or coffee an reach for them often for a quick smoke. RASCC, Monte #5, Dip #5, Trini Reyes, Boli CJ, Partagas shorts, Sig I, are all excellent cigars. I am surprised there are not more votes in this catagory. But when a have more time to enjoy a smoke I think the Dalia and Lonsdale have an excellent RG and size for a satisfying smoke.

I agree with you personally. I very rarely even smoke churchills, let alone DCs or some other mamoth stick. I love 38-46 ring gauges, lancero being the stick of choice if I have the time. But I know lots of guys who smoke the fatties, and they love them. Fat sticks tend to be very cool, very smooth, and if they have strength if tends to sneak up on you instead of slapping you in the face (you can't "hide" much in a 42-ring cigar ... if it's a powerhouse, you'll know it pretty quickly). I'll smoke them from time to time (especially if they are only 5" or less), and sometimes even prefer them. But it's more likely I'll prefer the skinnier rings in any given line, CC or NC.
jedipastor Posted July 29, 2011 Posted July 29, 2011 One size that I have been liking a lot lately when I diverge from my thin-ring preference is the so-called "petite robusto" sizes. There are more of them in the NC world (espeically from the My Father factory), but the HdM Petite Robusto is fantastic as well, even if it is a bit overpriced imvho. I find that they are usually just as flavorful as a robusto, if not moreso, and they don't take as much of a time commitment, which is an issue for me usually. I'm thinking Ken will hate this idea, but I'd like to see more petite robusto type cigars in the HSA lineup, as long as they are priced accordingly (i.e. no more Trini Short Rob Ts that cost more than the bigger versions ..., what is that about?).
