Have a few boxes of these. One to rock and the rest to stock.

Despite their youth I am finding that these RE's are overachieving already. Cedar, cocoa and caramel tasting notes observed in the three that I have smoked.

A solid 90 with the potential to get to a 93 in a few years time.

I've had a few of these. Overall, the ones I've smoked were very good. The one I'm working on now, not so good. Must be a dud.

Have had about three of these so far from a box,I generally agree with what has been said so far ,these do have that sweetness that is associated with the mark in general, they were very nice considering there youthn,I have a gut feeling that these babies will be something really special given enough time ,how much time is the million dollar question ,but still think given time they will shine :P

OZ :spotlight:

My thought exactly! Reminds me of the German Lonsdales when they were fresh.

Perfect construction. Very good now, like a polished PLPC, but I feel it will develop a lot relatively quickly.

Not really a PL fan, but I smoked a gifted Encanto yesterday & ordered a box today.

Id be interested to see if some of the members that have posted have had a chance to try another, since this post has been bumped.

I smoked one late last year and earlier this year and found them really enjoyable.

They are really a good cigar. Órdered another box before they are gone.

Had one last week and thought it was ok, never had a pl that impressed me to be quite honest. Wouldn't spend the paper, had a couple last year as well that were mediocre.

The two i had started off amazing, really flavourfull cigars but just before the half way point turned into probably the most bitter cigars i've ever had. However i do think this was down to the construction.. both were extremely tight, boardering on plugged. I do find over and over the construction can play a huge part in a cigars flavour, with these i think if they weren't as tight they would have continued to be as good as they were from the start.

Have had two singles. Love the size, but flavors were muted, otherwise would have gone for a box. Still on the fence.

Much the same for me, but I've only had one which was gifted to me by Mike (bolivr).

Still too early to tell. They seem to be made for the very long haul... My box smells ammonia and fermentation, didn't bother to try one yet. The PL Robustos seemed more approachable when young but are shining now.

Recently got a box of PL robustos in and they are fantastic. Been wanting to try a encantos may have to get a box

I've been thru one box of these URG NOV10 and am thinking about getting another to smoke so I can leave the boxes I have aging alone.......yes I'm a PL *****.

What I really like about these is the honey sweetness that comes on after about an inch, very elegant.

Hopefully time will be good to them.

I've just finished smoking one of these.. And I am happy to report that they are improving. The honey like sweetness mentioned in the previous comment is spot on.. The Encantos are also starting to show some signs of the famous PL caramel.. I believe that these are coming to their own now and will probably require 1 more year to start showing their real potential.

So funny. I just smoked one this evening as well since this thread made me wanna revisit these guys. The last one I smoked was probably a year ago and was strong, harsh, and very subtle caramel.

This one is spot on with what you found. Had some LOVELY caramel shinning through and most of that harsh bite has settled. I smoked this one almost to the nub before it was too harsh to continue. But once I finished I still had the silky caramel flavor left on my palate. These are definitely starting to shine, but I do believe it will be 1-2 years before they really shine. Might need to grab an additional box or two to lay down for the long haul!

...or just buy something that is cheaper and good NOW

Had 6 Encantos and was disappointed with every single one of them.

What you recommend Mr Lotusguy?

PL Montecarlos, for example. Or, if you want to stick with PL RE, the Belicoso Extra (though those are not cheaper).

Honestly I believe the encantos are better than the MonteCarlos, the panatela, and the plpcs. And they still have legs to run and run. But they do come at a price. For a box of encantos you can have twice as many plpcs for example. And the 2012 plpcs are smashing good. But I will leave you with this, I don't chase many REs. There are only 5-6 boxes of REs in my humi and 2 of those are encantos. Its the only RE I doubled up on and I would like to add 1-2 more if they are still around near the end of the year.
