Enjoying a Fuente Between The Lines now in celebration of a buddy's birthday. It's a very tasty stick, in addition to looking quite gorgeous. Video review coming up later.

What do you all think of this cigar?

Never smoked one.

A few years back I got one as part of a trade. I put it in a glass tube and other than looking at it sometimes as I go thorugh my singles drawer, I don't pay much attention to it. You're right, it is a gorgeous cigar but I don't think it's something that I would buy.

I've never had one either, but another great video review nonetheless.

Thanks for sharing!

It reminds me of an egg roll with chocolate strips.

I haven't tried one, but if its anything like the Fuente Short Story then it is worth getting a few sticks if you find them.

They are definitely a time friendly cigar

I'm keen to check out your review when its up :buddies:

I found it bland and not worth the price

Not sure whether it's because the stick i had was aged quite a bit (see the pics for the extremely yellowed cello), but it was anything but bland. Not very complex, but that's forgivable given how tasty it was for me. :buddies:

Thanks for the review! Never had one of these myself, but I must say the the wrapper looks really interesting. I wonder how they roll it?

Sadly, I've kind of hit the wall with Fuente cigars. Perhaps it's due to my changing palette, but their cigars really do nothing for me anymore.

I had the chance to smoke one a few years ago, I remember it was really good and tasty.

Very beautiful cigar.

It's rolled by using 2 different coloured wrappers, a maduro and a claro. Quite difficult to roll, i would imagine, especially since it's a figurado, its small. Amazing that they can get any sort of consistency with these.

Horrible looking cigar. Is there any point to having different coloured wrappers, or is it just a gimmick?

Gimick mostly. The difference in flavour between a BTL and a claro or maduro Short Story is probability quite small, too small to be able to discern the difference.

Fair enough, each to their own I guess. Enjoyed the review anyway :)

I don't know, the Cameroon and Maduro wrappers on the AF Hemingways yeild very different experiences. The BTL is sort of both, but really it's something altogether different. To me it's not worth the price for a regular smoke, but fun as an occasional thing.

And just FYI, the size of the BTL is NOT the same size as the Short Story (4x48). It's the same size as the Best Seller (4.5x54).

By and large, Fuentes get MUCH better with age. I don't bother with most of the nicer stuff until it's at least 2-years-old, and around the 5-year mark they're pretty fantastic.

Wow Aiz...that looks like one well aged AF BTL. I've smoked a few of these in my time, and I agree with you that while not complex, the flavors are nice, but @ $22.50 a pop here in NYC...the QPR is just not there for me. I'd rather have an OpusX, or better yet, an Anejo.
