cigarmonologues Posted July 18, 2011 Posted July 18, 2011 I'd love, like many others it seems, a few reviews from of petit coronas and some stuff from the ERdM line... I suppose the ERdM PC would be a great choice (it has nothing to do with it being one of my favourite cigars...) I think the JL No2 would be an excellent choice - I've only had a few, but they've all been wonderfully 'meaty'. I'd be interested to hear other thoughts on them. Whilst I'd love to see something along those lines, I'm sure I'd thoroughly enjoy watching whatever you guys come up with.
oliverchang514 Posted July 18, 2011 Posted July 18, 2011 I'd like to see: (in order of preference ) Monte Petite Edmundo (my favorite still.) ERDM Choix Supreme SLR Regios Magnum 46,48,50 Bolivar Gold Medal R&J Short Churchills VR Unicos HDM Des Dieux RASCC RASS Monte Especial No. 2 HDM Epi No. 2 (the handful of sticks I've had have been mediocre.)
Van55 Posted July 18, 2011 Posted July 18, 2011 I think it was about a year ago that the controversial topic of "rinsing" a cigar immediately before smoking it came up. You said you intended to to a side by side review of rinsed vs. non-rinsed of the same cigar. If you did such a review since then, I missed it. So why not give it a try. Take, for example, a cigar most of us have smoked like a Mag 46. Have Lisa "rinse" one for each of your reviewers and leave another as it came from the box. Smoke them side by side or back to back and let us have your contemporaneous thoughts.
tempbond Posted July 18, 2011 Posted July 18, 2011 As it has been one of my favorites recently, the Vegas Robaina Petit Robaina RE Canada. Could be hard to find, but worth the trouble.
jedipastor Posted July 19, 2011 Posted July 19, 2011 I'd love to see more aged cigar reviews. I'm not talking decades, just a few years. We often hear you guys say, "this is pretty good for such a young cigar, but if you set this down for 4 years (or whatever), you'll be very happy." I'd love to see more reviews of cigars that are smoking AS THEY ARE INTENDED TO, and maybe some comments on how the aged versions differ from the young versions. As a guy who has mostly young stock, this would be very helpful. For example, I adore the '08 Mag 46s I have, but I recently had a fresh one and thought it was terrible. Had I smoked the fresh one first, I may not have these '08s right now to enjoy! And I'll 2nd the request for an NC review every now and then. Something good that a lot of the guys on the board recommend, etc. And comparing those cigars to Cubans. It might even be fun to smoke a few of the more notorious "cubanesque" cigars (like a La Aurora 100 Anos) and then discuss why people might say that, etc. I'd also love to watch you guys smoked something really strong and spicy, just to see if Ken pukes or has a sneezing fit
bstarrs Posted July 21, 2011 Posted July 21, 2011 I'd like to see La Gloria Cubana Tainos, the 2011 vintage of the SLR Regios, and some other cigars off the beaten path. Oh and a revisit of the Dip 2s!
