aes8 Posted July 11, 2011 Posted July 11, 2011 I'd like to see a semi annual review of the "best of breed" of each size. At the end of the year all the member can vote for their best of breed and the cigars with the most votes wins and gets two review the following year. For example I'd like to see two reviews next year on: Lusis Sir Winston Monte No. 2 P898 RASS Des Dieux PLPC I think this would be a testament to consistancy (or lackthereof)
amosnaim Posted July 11, 2011 Posted July 11, 2011 A few I'd love to see: HDM Epicure especial Bolivar Gold Medal Monte no.1 Bolivar PC Siglo 3&5 Vintage cigars Thanks
77stoneblues Posted July 11, 2011 Posted July 11, 2011 Would really love to see a review of the Monte "A"! Also, a shootout between cigars in tubes versus the non-tubed, like Partagas P2's or R&J Short Churchills for example. And, as previously mentioned: Bolivar Royal Coronas R&J Short Churchills PLPC's Thanks!
CohibaBehike Posted July 11, 2011 Posted July 11, 2011 1492 please That'd be crazy! or a 1994! (In all seriousness I know that would be ridiculous, but it would be awesome to see you guys review something like this)
IcedCanuck Posted July 11, 2011 Posted July 11, 2011 I would definitely like to see more reviews on PLPCs as I smoke them quite regularly. I think it would also be neat to see a comparison between all the Siglos (I, II, III, IV, V, VI).
gersonmorelli Posted July 11, 2011 Posted July 11, 2011 I think the video reviews should be done on the most consistent cigars around. There's too much variance in Monte no2, no4s, most RyJ , even some Partagas IMO. Also it would be interesting to see a vertical tasting on PLPC for example.
pinotguy Posted July 11, 2011 Posted July 11, 2011 Juan Lopez Sel. No. 4 Partagas Presidentes Later this year, it'd be nice to see the 2011 LE's reviewed on video.
melies Posted July 11, 2011 Posted July 11, 2011 Would really love to see a review of the Monte "A"! Also, a shootout between cigars in tubes versus the non-tubed, like Partagas P2's or R&J Short Churchills for example. +1 for the Monte A and the tubed versions, I always seem to find them better, also: RyJ Wide churchill Juan Lopez 2 Monte Open's San Cristobal Muralla (before they can it) LGC Inmensos and Allones Superiores
ksblazer Posted July 11, 2011 Posted July 11, 2011 Punch Punch as mentioned in another thread Boli Royal Coroans Montecristo No.1 Vegas Robainas
IcedCanuck Posted July 11, 2011 Posted July 11, 2011 I think it would be amusing to see a review on Guantanamera cigars ... mainly for all the bashing and trash talking that one can only assume would occur.
CaptainQuintero Posted July 11, 2011 Posted July 11, 2011 I think it would be amusing to see a review on Guantanamera cigars ... mainly for all the bashing and trash talking that one can only assume would occur. Quintero too
in0gravity Posted July 11, 2011 Posted July 11, 2011 Hi Rob, what would you like to review next? I would like to see a review of the San Cristobal de la Habana Muralla. I have been smoking some singles lately and have mixed feelings about these and would love to get an experts view on these. Another cigar I would like to be reviewed is the Juan Lopez Seleccion No. 4. You were also very high on the Punch Super Robusto from 2006. How is this cigar progressing with age? Same goes for the Ramon Allones Estupendos. Oh by the way, what happened to the yearly SLR double corona review??? Happy smoking Lars
riazp Posted July 11, 2011 Posted July 11, 2011 I will add quai d'orsay to my suggestions, after Guy's write up, I am fascinated by these cigars. I think a battle of the cigars would be fun like puttin the top robustos against each other, the top figurados, PC's, corona gorda's, ect...
LeafLover Posted July 11, 2011 Posted July 11, 2011 Rob, do an NC for shits and giggles. Maybe something from the Fuente or Padron family.
LeafLover Posted July 11, 2011 Posted July 11, 2011 ....Or a Pepin. Then, compare/contrast to Cuban cigars in regards to flavor, body, and construction..
mazolaman Posted July 11, 2011 Posted July 11, 2011 for me A tainos A quai D'Orsay A Vegueros A la punta Please.
TankerT Posted July 11, 2011 Posted July 11, 2011 I guess, after thinking about it for a bit... Please review some of the lesser known brands with a lesser market share. Lets face it... most of us are pretty familiar with the flavor profiles of Montecristo, Cohiba, Paragas, etc... I've never had a Quai d'Orsay, a El Rey del Mundo, a Juan López and so on... I'm looking to find out if any of their cigars are worth ordering a single or sampler on. (So, if you do a review, please have a few singles available...) That's my 2 cents. And, with the US Dollar where it is... that's probably worth less than gum on the street... Thanks for your consideration, and thanks for asking.
ramon_cojones Posted July 12, 2011 Posted July 12, 2011 No point reviewing a cigar we're all familiar with right now, I think would be best for a q d'o, superiores and other less common smokes and marques like JL (which isn't exactly a secret but not the usual fair). I'd like to open my eyes to something I didn't know about rather than the usual stuff.
Nocoins Posted July 17, 2011 Posted July 17, 2011 I'd like to see some reviews of cigars from 2006-2008. Recently, I've primarily been smoking cigars from 2004-2010. The cigars from 04-08 (especially 04-06 right now) seem to be more true to their marca. I have found more similarity in taste among fresh cigars across marcas. We know that recent production cigars certainly are more approachable younger than in the past, but I wonder if that is not such a good thing after all. So, I'd like to hear your thoughts on whether 3-5 years of box age allows recent production cigars to develop more brand-specific characteristics. Or maybe it is all in my head.
