More specifically, I have an unopened box from Dec 09...were they up to par then? ThanksJoe Joe, their OK. For things such as Partagas Salomones, OK is not good enough. Sure, I can pick one or two great boxes most months, but couldn't do so this month. They were at their best at release. It is a box by box scenario with no box codes standing out.

I had smoked a few from another box, same code, that I picked up at the same time and was not wowed by them...I had wondered if perhaps they just needed a long sleep. I agree though, ok is not good enough. I'm glad to have found FoH to get such honest and informative input, hopefully I'll never buy another "OK' box of Cuban cigars again...

No I bet you won't.I've only bought once from Rob so far,Upmann #2,but I can honestly say they're the nicest looking cigars I've ever had and they are "only" the stock PE cigars,smoking wonderfully too after a month's rest.The Czar has been a wonderful find for me this year,the personal way they look after us is unique and gives you so much faith.I ordered my second box from them again last night,PSD4,can't wait to get them :-)) I'll certainly never use another vendor now :-))

Some 08's have been vet good but it is a struggle picking great boxes where everything is in balance (wrapper/construction/flavour).

I guess that is why you use that "fruit market" analogy. We receive whatever is shipped so that could be anything from 2007 for slow moving stock to 2011 for the fast movers.
