CM125 Posted June 8, 2011 Posted June 8, 2011 Today I had the pleasure of smoking two great Cigars. This is my first reviews, the first was a Liga Privada number 9 the first 3 rd had some spice and a taste of aged tobacco thru out the Cigar was a woods taste it tasted like the smell when they burn the barrels at the Jack Daniel distillery. The 2nd third had a cherry taste with a mild chocolate taste in the background. The last 3rd was more of the same. The second was a Padron 1926 number 2 belicoso the Cigar started of with a large blast of pepper and then it settled down the whole Cigar did not change a great deal all the way thru it has a strong taste of dark coffee/ espresso with a sweet taste of dark chocolate. A great day 2 thing that could have made it better if I had a Cuban Cigar and a large glass of great Rum to go along with them. Curtis
thechenman Posted June 9, 2011 Posted June 9, 2011 Nice cigars Curtis. I'm a big fan of the LP#9 as well, but I prefer the Oscuro Parejo. The Padron 26 No.2 is another fantastic cigar. One of my favorites among the 26 line. Comes in right behind the No.6. Was it a maduro or natural wrapper. With Padron it can be sometimes hard to tell.

The LP# 9 is extremely had to find where I am much less the oscuro wrapper. What kind kind of taste do you get out of the oscuro wrapper. Curtis

Right now LP9s are hard to come by because of a wrapper shortage. Buy them where you can find them. The T52s are still readily available though. When I smoke LP9s I think they start off fairly strong right of the bat. Always starts with a cherry-like flavor for me. I get that fruitiness and some sweetness along with it. Soon after the spice and black pepper really picks up for me to finish off the first third. The second third I tend to get coffee flavors with a little taste of chocolate here and there. Very rich and still spicy. What I love is that these cigars put out smoke like a chimney. The final third definitely gets stronger. Here I get more woody flavors, and at times they can give me a little too much Vitamin N. Truly a great cigar.
