Ghabanos Posted June 7, 2011 Posted June 7, 2011 LBT ENE 10 Environment - roof top, not too hot, 30 degrees in the evening with some cool breeze Pairing: none Construction: rough and vein-ny; Spots, nicely packed, nicely wrapped dry to the look; Powdery to the touch probably a bit dry as the band slides easily up and down the stick just couldn't wait to try so I smoke the within days of arrival and still very young as per box code At cold: cedar and chocolate, sweet chocolate, Bit of fruit Draw is perfect Opening not entirely smooth Bit harsh 1/3 As it burns slowly the smoke is less harsh sweet scent in the smoke spice on the tongue but not the paprika or the black pepper sort bit of cream in the after taste nice toasted tobacco good amt of thick smoke burn a little out of whack 2/3 strength increases roasted campfire coffee, but not quite espresso luscious smoke 3/3 lots of espresso less to no spice after taste of cream no more chocolate less strength - maybe I was acclimated continued copious amount of smoke had to fix uneven burn will place these in the Humi and revisit in about 6 months to a year. Rating 87 thanks for reading...
peanutpete Posted June 7, 2011 Posted June 7, 2011 nice review, give them a couple of more years and they will be really great
Puros Y Vino Posted June 7, 2011 Posted June 7, 2011 Hmmm.....Do these really need more sleep? The binder & filler is aged for three years and the wrapper for five. I've had about 6 in the past year from a 2009 box and they were solid performers. I'd take a box of these over a box of BHK52's anyday.
headstand Posted June 8, 2011 Posted June 8, 2011 Seems to me Rob said in one of the video reviews that burn issues in young cigars tend to sort themselves out with time...I had a young Siglo 3 go crazy on me.

ramon_cojones Posted June 8, 2011 Posted June 8, 2011 Nice review, I need to try some more. While I'm not crazy for maduro 5s like some I do enjoy them once in awhile. Had an 03 dc el on sunday that was pleasant.

I would have to agree with you on that because of the price point. I have to say, I felt that there as substantially more cream in the bhk 56 that I had about a month ago, which i thought was quite nice. Great level of enjoyment. I think that I didn't give a higher rating because I was expecting something more pleasant to the eye. Nonetheless, a great smoke. I think that given I am finding less time to smoke these days, I would probably really enjoy the magicos or secretos...
maverickdrinker Posted June 8, 2011 Posted June 8, 2011 Thanks for the review. Based on your notes and the way that it burned, some time will do this some good. I had an OR Genios a few weeks ago and time does bring everything together. No burn issues. Plenty of cocoa, chocolate notes with a hint of spice. A little sweetness on the lips and the after taste.
maverickdrinker Posted June 8, 2011 Posted June 8, 2011 I'd happily trade 10 Genios for 10 BHK 52s. Love those things
pedrodepacas Posted June 8, 2011 Posted June 8, 2011 Great review, I have some on order and am looking forward to seeing my mailbox full with them.
thechenman Posted June 8, 2011 Posted June 8, 2011 Thanks for the review. Can't see the pics for some reason. While a Cohiba fan, I have to say I'm not a huge fan of the Maduro 5 line, cut of the three cigars, the Secretos is the best IMHO.
