I believe my first post on FOH was about Cuabas. I was surprised by the negative prevailing opinion. Well my friends....I think I understand. I git a box of 10 Distinguidos a couple of months or so ago and they have been driving me nuts. I have tried to smoke 4 of them and was totally unsuccessful on my first 3 tries. I LITERALLY could not get a puff from any of them. I tried all of my tricks...cutting the head more and more, cutting the foot more and more, poker, massage, etc. On the 3rd one, I removed the wrapper and that allowed me to get some smoke but thats a pretty drastic step to have to take and quite lame.

This fourth one started like the others, but after cutting a half an inch from both ends and a significant massage session, I started to get some smoke. I documented the semi-success with 3 pics for this brief ***** session/commiseration/review.

The cigar is still very tight but just on the edge of smokable. Im getting a mild to medium body and strength with woody and leathery tones with mild sweetness. What I get I like, I just wish I could smoke these dang things. I am so frustrated with this experience that I may never go for Cuaba again. what a shame

I dont know if you can tell on the final image, but this cigar is super densely packed. Its wayyy overfilled and heavy.

It does look very tightly and over packed in the last picture. I'm surprised that they would all be like that.

God doesn't want you to smoke Cuabas. He must love you a lot, and this is how he shows it. I have had similar experiences with my very first Cuaba, which was quite fortunate in that I gave up on them forever. They are awful cigars, which is probably why the most inexperienced or incompetent torcedors are assigned to rolling them.

Give thanks to the Almighty, and never, ever buy any of these dreadful cigars again.

My experience with the Cuaba brand is similar. I like the size and shape of of the Divinos, but after finding 7 of 10 or so out of several orders totally plugged and unsmokable, I've given up on them. ---Sam

This is too bad. I have always been intrigued with the shapes of the cuabas and have been contemplating getting some. I don't know now after these experiences.

Distinguidos are the best of the line IMHO. Get a good one and they are pure peanut butter.

I love the Divinos as well but just frustrated at construction.

My pick rate for Cuaba (PE/HQ/PSP) would be about 15% of what I see in the Marque.

It shouldn't be so.

I've smoked 2 Distinguidos out of a 5-pack, and I love them. Both smoked perfectly and the flavours were stupendous.

But based on all these stories, I'm note sure about picking up more...

Ugh...sorry to hear about your horrendous experience. I agree with most others on the Cuaba marca...totally disappointing. The one bright spot was the Cuaba LE. That is a great cigar.

Smoked 9 out of a 10 box so far.

Good cigars, maybe lacking in flavour in the mid section, but good nutty flavours otherwise.

Much worse cigars out there for more money.
