LeafLover Posted April 15, 2011 Posted April 15, 2011 Lol - even lava rock at that? Yep! Really coarse and porous. I lived on the Big Island so lots of it there. If we weren't pelting each other, we were throwing them at the mongoose or the toads that were the sizes of softballs. Dude! Lazer tag was so awesome!!! We played that **** too. We also got into Crossbows and Catapults the board game where we could launch the discs at our enemy's castle and men. Dam! Good fun!
genevapics Posted April 15, 2011 Posted April 15, 2011 Football Baseball Wiffle Ball (used a lawn chair for the strike zone) Basketball Army with dirt balls and forts also. Flashlight tag: Someone holds a flashlight and everyone hides. Person then starts looking and if they flash the light on you, you are it. If you reach back to home base you're safe. Bamboozaling (I believe this is what we called it.) We go out in the woods and climb tall, young sapling trees. Get to a certain height, the tree would bend over and you would slowly come back to the ground. Pick the wrong tree and... SNAP!!! Days when there was a lot of snow, we would throw snowballs at cars. Really stupid thing to do, but we did it. Always wished I had played stick ball. Always saw kids in the city play this.

Rogers72 Posted April 15, 2011 Posted April 15, 2011 I grew up in a very rural setting as well. We would make "forts" in the woods. The majesty of these forts still amaze when I look back on it. Usually fashioned out of down trees, lumber that we would redistribute from whatever homesite that we could find, and tarps. We would dig tunnels (amazing noone was buried alive) where we would hide the cigarettes and alcohol that we lifted off our parents. We would have wars where we would attack rival fortresses. This started more than a few small forest fires. We did a great deal of stuff that I look back on and can't believe how stupid we were (making explosives, etc.). Too much space and too much freedom for 10 years olds i guess.
