Ok, so people who are commenting on the cullebra discontinuation thread seem very upset but my gosh, I have NEVER seen anyone smoke one of these. I have 3 bunches in my humidor and really like them, but what was the level of support amongst FOH members?

BTW: before the curmudgeons get upset, I am officially not posting this to try to win Robs prize...i actually want to know.

I have seen someone smoke it... but only because i watch the FOH cigar reviews...

I wasn't really interested, but I wouldn't kick it out of the bed...

I've smoked several of these. Both machine made and hand made. Handmade being the best. First you peel of the wrapper and carefully untwine each cigar. Of course there's 3 cigars in a bunch... After that it's like smoking anyone cigar. It is quite strange to hold that in your hand. They taste pretty good. Got to try it atleast once.

My church (I'm Catholic) sponsors an annual cigar dinner that's attended by about 400 guys--cigars, open bar, steaks cooked on-site over charcoal, etc. I'll miss taking them to that event as they never fail to draw comments from those who have never seen them. They're a decent smoke IMO, but the real attraction to them is the novelty of the shape, braid, etc.

Purchased some around 2001 and they were okay nothing special taste wise. My friends did seem to like the odd shape and there was always a conversation about them when I smoked one by onlookers. But since then I never had the urge to purchase anymore boxes of them. I found cigars that were comperable price wise that that I enjoyed more.

So I voted that I'll moderatly miss them.

I recently bought one of these with 2 close friends. They we're actually surprisingly good, but I think it's more the novelty and curiosity factor that makes them special.

I definitely will miss them if when they're gone.

I think that's the point; they are a talking point.

I've never bought or smoked any, but I feel they enrich the habanos line up for their individuality and sheer "strangeness" (for want of a better word)

I'd most likely buy a box just to have them and take them out occasionally; I do think they are unique and very appealing in their presentation if nothing else.....

almost a work of art!

I have one box purely for the novelty of it. I'm mildly upset that they're deleted but can't really be bothered with it that much.

I might buy another box so in a couple of years I'll have something special to gift to new cigar smokers :nyah:

The first thing that I notice about the results of this poll are that three people (so far) are going to be on "suicide watch" after they are deleted yet there aren't three people who have bought more than 12 bunches of them (so far) in the past 4 years. I think you will find the similar results among all cigars who have been deleted: people crying but they haven't been buying. Even the Partagas SdC line suffered from this. Many of the people who cried the hardest when they were deleted had only bought a very small quantity of them before but all of a sudden it was doomsday.

Never smoked one, never purchased one, prob never will, but I am extremely upset at their deletion. I cherish the diversity of Cuban cigars, and am upset when any of them get axed. E.g. I hate HdM, but would be livid if any of them got cancelled. Doesn't matter whether I like a cigar or not, I am against cancellations (unless it's Guantanamera, which in hindsight, was a good decision)

I bought a box when the hand made version first came out- and never smoked any. They might be good, but more of a curio to me.

I admit that there is a novelty aspect to this cigar, but they are actually a very good smoke. I've smoke several and own a few boxes. I never smoke them alone though...only in group divisible by 3. While I think there are many much better Partagas cigars, or Cuban cigar in general, it will be sad to see them go. They are the last vestige of the culebra in the CC line up. It would be a shame to see them go the way of the doe doe bird.

Never purchased one. I do have one in my humidor gifted by a BOTL. I was in Cuba in October 2010, and shared one with 2 friends that were in Cuba at the same time. Smoked it @ LCDH 63rd in Varadero and enjoyed it!!!

I had the pleasure of smoking 1/3 of one with some friends. From what I remember, it was a pleasurable cigar. Nothing out of the ordinary, except for the unusual configuration. Like many have said, more of a novelty item.

Just smoked one yesterday from a box I had forgotten about in the back of the humidor. Solid smoke... not saying it's a SdC or anything, but good flavors, a bit on the strong side, and well worth having a few around for an entertaining smoke with 2 buddies. Just ordered a couple more boxes before they disappear for good. Learned my lesson the hard way in 2010.

I've never bought one or smoked one. And that's a damn big box they come in.

They currently come in a box of 9--3 coffins of 3. I like having them and have had fun taking them to sit downs. And they are tasty cigars, full of white pepper, and have a good burn. Their taste is distinctive from the PSD4, Shorts, and PSP2s.

I'll buy a minor stockpile if they are discontinued.

*I've bought a box (or a sectional, however you term it) in 1998. Could not understand the concept of smoking a twisted, skinny smoke & looking like a comic strip character who's been punched in the face while cigar is still in mouth. I've got one last aluminum wrapped 3 cigar-twist left. It's been in that storage from that year until this. Don't really recall what my verdict was on the flavor. As I've mentioned before when I end up with a whole box of either 10 or 25, nearly 87% of it gets given away.

Tried them about a year or so ago. Don't like the feel, BUT enjoyed the flavor very much. So much so, I bought another box. Spicy, peppery for me.

I have bought 0 and have had 0 but would be very upset because I am fairly new to ccs and have not been able to buy any yet. I was looking forward to buying them when I wanted and thought they would be great to have when friends are around.
