cigarros Posted March 21, 2011 Posted March 21, 2011 These cigars I got from my colleagues from the XIII Festival del Habano which was held in Havana 21-26 February this year. It's new release of 2011 was presented at the FdH. These cigars will be included in the regular line of Partagas. Size 54 x 140, vitola de galera - Duke (robusto extra family). Produced will be in SBN 5 and 25. These one were packaged in SBN 3 as a festival release. Wrapper color: colorado Texture of the wrapper: thin, smooth, shiny, oily Pre-light aroma: spices, smoked meats, wood 1\3 - fine opimal draw and "body", complex aromas - coffee beans, roasted pecans, almonds, peanuts in the shell. Mild strength with plesant aftertasting. 2\3 - strength begining to grow, the basic flavors of nuts, leather, coffee and timber 3\3 - The last third was very full-bodied. Aromas is complex and complicated. Distinguishable shades of spices (tarragon, thyme), roasted meats, coffee and tea leaves. The strength is enhanced with each draw. After the middle of 3 / 3 taste is spicy, bitter with long aftertaste. Time of smoking: 65-70 min. Noble, complex, harmonious and well balanced cigar, both in taste and in the aromas. Taste is always balancing from the spicy to bitter like a well-roasted barbecue with lots of spices. The cigar is definitely for experienced smokers. Evening cigar after a hearty dinner. Potential for aging I think - about 3 years old. We'll waiting for her appearance in the ordinary line and compare with the festival one. Festival's Serie E № 2 expectedly failed.
Habanos2000 Posted March 21, 2011 Posted March 21, 2011 That sure sounds like a fantastic cigar. I agree and hope that regular production will be as interesting as this festival release because I would be interested in trying a few.
Lotusguy Posted March 21, 2011 Posted March 21, 2011 I definitely plan on getting a 5er box of those.
cigarros Posted March 21, 2011 Author Posted March 21, 2011 Hope regular line will same like festival one. Really great cigar!
mbrody Posted March 22, 2011 Posted March 22, 2011 Dang do they look purty! Thanks for sharing cigarros!
thechenman Posted March 22, 2011 Posted March 22, 2011 Definitely looking forward to smoking a few of these cigars. Thanks Dimitri...
rp99pts Posted March 22, 2011 Posted March 22, 2011 Oh yah...Can't wait to get some of these...Love the size...
Dbone Posted March 23, 2011 Posted March 23, 2011 Thanks brother. I have to admit I just can't get into these fat cigars. Since it's Partagas I know I'm going to try them, and I may prove myself wrong, but it's not my cup of tea. I love the pyramid size because of it's tapered end, still a fat smoke though. Thanks for the debrief on the new Partagas cigars
CanuckSARTech Posted March 23, 2011 Posted March 23, 2011 Noticed in those pictures that the Partagas logo on the inside of the box lid almost appears to be hand-drawn, rather than branded/pressed in. Curious - what's up with that diversion from the packaging norm for them?
