El Presidente Posted February 18, 2011 Posted February 18, 2011 My sample batch of 6 x 38 Customs came in. Look and smell great and will sample one later in the day and with a panel over the next month in order to assess if we have got the blend right. Anyway, should they proceed (June delivery), they need a name. Name them for me
Colt45 Posted February 18, 2011 Posted February 18, 2011 Keeping it simple: The 638 (six thirtyeight) (or 386)
mkz Posted February 18, 2011 Posted February 18, 2011 Nice! When can we get some? Wasnt these meant to be something like the Partagas SDC3? A name that honours the SDC line pehaps?
olotti Posted February 18, 2011 Posted February 18, 2011 Wow now those are some " old school havana" looking cigars, not that I've ever seen any but thats the first thing that comes to mind and they just look so rustic. Cant wait to see how they review, I missed out on the last batch I'll be watching these very closely. Love the size.
Habanakane21 Posted February 18, 2011 Posted February 18, 2011 SLR Custom Rolled S=Smithy L=Lise R=Rob Not to be confused with Saint Luis Rey (SLR) lol!
Fuzz Posted February 18, 2011 Posted February 18, 2011 If this is a powerbomb cigar, then I suggest the Lisa... looks gorgeous and packs a mean right hook!
Wil Posted February 18, 2011 Posted February 18, 2011 La Niña customs. (a reflection on Australia's summer of disaster; also means 'the girl-child' in Spanish )
adic88 Posted February 18, 2011 Posted February 18, 2011 Why do cigar names tend to be machismo and masculine. e.g. Tatuaje "The Face". Bolivar. Montecristo. Let's buck the trend with this one. Czarista Especial
rckymtn22 Posted February 18, 2011 Posted February 18, 2011 Like the 638 idea. How about El Matador! Or adding another idea the El Matador SLR
ryans Posted February 18, 2011 Posted February 18, 2011 The Pantheon Rob actually used the word and spelled it out in one of the reviews (forgot which one), and it pays tribute to the SDC line
tmac77 Posted February 18, 2011 Posted February 18, 2011 how aobout 'Mongrel' not pretty but a nice blend
Habanos2000 Posted February 18, 2011 Posted February 18, 2011 I like the "638" idea. Other suggestions I have would be "El Classico", or maybe "La Pluma".
MrGlass Posted February 18, 2011 Posted February 18, 2011 Pigfish. +1 A trend of naming these customs after special members of the community would be a nice touch, and you're on the way to that already.
MIKA27 Posted February 18, 2011 Posted February 18, 2011 Again, back to basics: Czar638, C638, FOH638? EDIT: Or another CC638 (As in Czar Custom or Cuban Cigar 638)
Fuzz Posted February 18, 2011 Posted February 18, 2011 Pigfish. I'm sure Piggy would prefer a 4 x 60 cigar to be named after him. After all he does short squat things, just look at his horses! And be sure to market it as an EL!!
Tarks Posted February 18, 2011 Posted February 18, 2011 In recognition of the crazy summer you folks have had down under. Monsoon 638
Puros Y Vino Posted February 18, 2011 Posted February 18, 2011 Gorgeous cigars! I like the rustic look of them. So in Spanish. Rusticos.
