I tried my first one yesterday; to my taste this cigar is unsmokable at the moment: strong, tannic, acidic, etc, but the potential is evident. I won't have another one before 2013 or 2014…

Just had one over the weekend after reading Guy's review. It was quite delicious and creamy but it was not consistent through out the smoke though.

This was my "go to" afternoon cigar everyday for about a week on my last trip to Zurich.

They are exceptional for such a young cigar and will only get better with time. Highly recommend this cigar as a one to have for your cigar portfolio.

Great flavors, rich, voluminous smoke, 75 minutes of pleasure everytime you light up.

9.5 chf per stick or 95chf for a Box of 10 at Samuel Menzi's LCDH in Zurich.

I burned my second Ramon Allones Superiore tonight. It was young, strong, tannic, and rather harsh in the last third. These definitely need time. However...

It was absolutely delicious. One of the most flavorful RA's I've ever had. I would compare it to one of my favorites, the UK Belicosos in terms of body and strength, but I found the flavor profile to be even more complex and interesting. It held my attention all the way to the last inch. This Superiore had the classic woody core, with pepper, herbs and stewed fruit, but here were also notes of peanut butter that I really enjoyed. These are going to be great cigars in a year or two, and they have what it takes to age.

A big thumbs up!

I had a similar experience with my LRE MAR10 box. This is the review of one of the 10 sticks that I wrote for Cigar Review (not published yet): A beautifully made cigar, light-brown in colour with a perfect draw. Its flavour is leathery and creamy (a lot of cream actually). Only five thousand boxes of this cigar have been produced in 2010. These are for keep in order to allow them to mature further. At the end of this process one may end up with a fantastic smoke. 8.5

I was lucky to pick that box since in the LCDH on the small Cuban island I was visiting this was the only box of RA available and of course I had never tried this particular model.

This is truly a cigar that I've been waiting to smoke since I missed out on the last time that Ramon Allones came out with a Corona Gorda in 2005 with the Allones Seleccion Suprema ER , Italy.

I would love to see a Corona Gorda in the regular line of RA's. A bit like Punch, that used to have 4 corona gordas in it's line.

The RA Allones Superiores are indeed beautiful to look at, the wrappers and the construction is flawless and the smell is simply wonderful . The only problem was that inside the box, instead of getting a second sheet of paper describing the smokes as LCDH exclusives, I got a sheet telling me that I've just opened up a box of , RA Grandes RE for Spain 2008, woww 2 in one, LOL LOL

The box code is LRE ABR 10.

After cutting the cap, I found that the draw was a bit too loose for my taste, but the pre flavors were there, earthy with notes

of forest, earth and leaves.

First Third, the Superiores had floral notes with a bit of saltyness at the mouth end and followed with lingering hints of coffee which gave a creamy after taste persistence and a touch of wet saddle leather, which I enjoyed very much,Things are looking good.

Second Third, the floral vegetal flavors are still present but the taste is more on the chocolate and leather with great nutty flavors, some hints of green tea are present also. I was afraid that the cigar would heat up because of the relative easy darw but it was doing fine at this stage.

Final Third, this is where things evolve to a higher level, the Superiores has kept the same flavors but every taste has amplified, the cigar is still burning great with no wrapper Issue and the tastes have become more intense. Great notes of grilled or toasted almonds, expresso, white peppery spice which did not overpower the taste. The finale was very animal and thick covered with drops of chocolate. Wonderful.

A Ramon Allones like this keeps reminding me why I love this brand and why I'm a Corona Gorda Guy. The Superiores has everything I love in a cigar, taste, thickness, complex evolving flavors with never a dull moment, what more can a guy ask for aside the words.........MORE PLEASE.

Final Notes, ........ For me, an easy 93- 94 out of 100, Will age well.

There is however one small problem, ........................How in the world am I going to keep my hands off the other 9 Ramon Allones, Allones Superiores ? .......OH well !!! Life is a *****, but SOMEONE has to do it.

Ciao, and thanks for bearing with me .

Great review Guy! You nailed it. I absolutely love this cigar! I've smoked through a box of MUR MAY 12 and am currently working my way through a box of MUR MAR 13s with great gusto! I recently picked up 2 boxes of 2014s, don't recall the box code, on a 24:24 clearance offer. Can't wait for them to arrive.

Cheers!

Excellent review!! I very much enjoyed the first one I tried and found your observations/experience to be consistent with my own....just delicious as someone pointed out. While somewhat fresh now, they will get better
