This is truly a cigar that I've been waiting to smoke since I missed out on the last time that Ramon Allones came out with a Corona Gorda in 2005 with the Allones Seleccion Suprema ER , Italy.

I would love to see a Corona Gorda in the regular line of RA's. A bit like Punch, that used to have 4 corona gordas in it's line.

The RA Allones Superiores are indeed beautiful to look at, the wrappers and the construction is flawless and the smell is simply wonderful . The only problem was that inside the box, instead of getting a second sheet of paper describing the smokes as LCDH exclusives, I got a sheet telling me that I've just opened up a box of , RA Grandes RE for Spain 2008, woww 2 in one, LOL LOL

The box code is LRE ABR 10.

After cutting the cap, I found that the draw was a bit too loose for my taste, but the pre flavors were there, earthy with notes

of forest, earth and leaves.

First Third, the Superiores had floral notes with a bit of saltyness at the mouth end and followed with lingering hints of coffee which gave a creamy after taste persistence and a touch of wet saddle leather, which I enjoyed very much,Things are looking good.

Second Third, the floral vegetal flavors are still present but the taste is more on the chocolate and leather with great nutty flavors, some hints of green tea are present also. I was afraid that the cigar would heat up because of the relative easy darw but it was doing fine at this stage.

Final Third, this is where things evolve to a higher level, the Superiores has kept the same flavors but every taste has amplified, the cigar is still burning great with no wrapper Issue and the tastes have become more intense. Great notes of grilled or toasted almonds, expresso, white peppery spice which did not overpower the taste. The finale was very animal and thick covered with drops of chocolate. Wonderful.

A Ramon Allones like this keeps reminding me why I love this brand and why I'm a Corona Gorda Guy. The Superiores has everything I love in a cigar, taste, thickness, complex evolving flavors with never a dull moment, what more can a guy ask for aside the words.........MORE PLEASE.

Final Notes, ........ For me, an easy 93- 94 out of 100, Will age well.

There is however one small problem, ........................How in the world am I going to keep my hands off the other 9 Ramon Allones, Allones Superiores ? .......OH well !!! Life is a *****, but SOMEONE has to do it.

Ciao, and thanks for bearing with me .

Great review Guy. Thanks for sharing. While I don't often desire new cigars perhaps this one might be one for me to try, given your glowing review. -Piggy

Thanks Guy. Great review and pictures. I like how you staged the photos. You have an eye for composition. Cheers!

Glad you had a good experience. I have the same date and code and I tried one the other day and it was horribly bland. I am hoping that I just had a dud and that the rest turns out to be as wonderful as yours was!

Thanks for the review and pics. I have not had the same experience with these as your review. I find them bland, tasteless and harsh. I have 1 more resting in the humi. I'll give it another go in a few months.

I have smoked from three different boxes and all have been bland. That being said the aroma tells me the blandness wont last forever so I will wait a few months to sample again. Pretty darn sure they will come around....eventually.

Great review Guy

Ahhh for a 50 cabinet of these naked (the cigars).

I have found the to be as you have described. What a great addition to the regular RA lineup they would be.

I really like them and also wish they would add them to the regular lineup and I'm hoping to pick up some more (they don't seem to be available now). They are a little young but will surely develop into an incredible smoke in a short time.

My friend picked up a box for me earlier this year after a LCDH let us down with a order we made online. I'm gonna have to wait two years till I can try this one, hopefully the little rest will do them good B)

This review and accompanying pictures will make the waiting almost unbearable!!!

Great review and pics! A corona gorda would complement the RA lineup very well. Great DC, great robusto....they need something in the middle. I think they would be very, very popular.

Great Review. I had a friend just return from Cuba and brought a box for me home. After this review it will be hard for me to keep my hands off them.

Tried my first yesterday - on the palate it was dull and tannic. However through the nose there was some interesting spice (very strong) and there was a 'meaty' aftertaste. not touching these for 6 months! hopefully they take a turn for the better!

Romeo and Juliette, Tristan and Isolde, Orpheus and Eurydice: all great love stories.

Thanks for adding another chapter in your own: Guy and Corona Gorda!! :D

Great review. :D
