I also use an excel file to keep track of my boxes. Organized on Brand, Vitola, Purchase date, boxcode, price, retailer/country, status (full, smoking or empty) and in which humidor the box is resting (Humi in the Netherlands, Humi in Taiwan, or my friends humi)

I started this system because I can't look at my cigars that often and I have a **** memory so I often forget boxcodes :P

I do admit I keep a few boxes off the books so I can be surprised in a few years when I stumble across them :D

Excel baby! I added a column for 'date last smoked' about a year ago to help remind me when I need to re-visit or stay away from a box I'm aging. It's also helped me to identify my tendencies so I can plan my purchases; before this, I always grabbed what I felt like and never thought about replacing something 'till it was gone.

I have an excel sheet like many others. Actually, have had it from the day one.

Thank you bundwallah for the link. Going to check the software out.

My humidor resides in Australia. When I run out of something, I email Lisa, send her the money and she ships it out. Really not a problem.

I certainly can see why people would keep track of their cigars, but for me, there are other things in life to worry about. Find a few excellent vendors that have what you like, develop strong relationships with them and you should be in good shape.

My problem is not keeping track of my stash, but keeping track of which cigars Habanos, S.A. keeps eliminating. Too many regular production cigars are going by the wayside and it makes me sad.
