Matt Day Posted January 27, 2011 Posted January 27, 2011 I would cut Monte 4s (have had to may duff ones which are either plugged or bland tasting) Monte opens Behikes no cigar can justify that price tag In addition I would stop bring out more bigger gauge cigars while cutting of thin gauge’s.
B.HOBS Posted January 27, 2011 Posted January 27, 2011 I say, like others, cut back the RE/LE program, keep it nice and polished, and then keep all regular production going strong w/ no deletions. BUT... Cuaba... Vegueros... Come on. Get rid of these before anything else HSA!
Rehman Posted January 28, 2011 Posted January 28, 2011 they can ditch the ENTIRE Trinidad series... What an astounding assertion. (Reaches out a steadying hand to treasured rosewood Milano humidor containing 50 Trinidads in an assortment of Robusto Extras and Ts, Coloniales and Fundadores... there there, chaps, steady on, they know not whereof they speak, wishing to see you wiped off the rich red soil of the Vuelta Abajo from whence you came... don't listen...) Oh but I have followed this thread with mounting alarm at the judgmentalism involved, and sympathy for those whose happy smokes have been so cruelly dismissed herein (including by me, trying to be hip)... hey, someone buys those Cuabas, Guantanameras... and Trinidads. No offence intended.
Nocoins Posted January 28, 2011 Posted January 28, 2011 I think this thread was posted all in good fun. That's how I think it should be interpreted. Why so serious?

But I do find myself severely tried by the fact that HSA KEEPS discontinuing brands most of us really cherished!!!
Rehman Posted January 28, 2011 Posted January 28, 2011 Apologies for my testiness. Many people may not like the Mona Lisa or Audi R8 either, and in this brave new world of freedom of speech, opinion and expression everyone's encouraged to run down what they don't like. (In olden days, you just ignored them and they went away. But now they're all on Facebook and Twitter.) I'm a bit dispirited by all this. My sigtag will tell you I like non-Cuban cigars as well, which is apparently heretical here. Yet, on the non-Cuban forums, I must bite my tongue at the de rigeur dissing of Habanos. So here I come to "Friends of Habanos", only to find there are Habanos and there are Habanos and there's Guantanamera. Maybe you're right about me being "too serious". This is just a negative thread for some therapeutic letting-off of steam. One Fundadores later, I'm soothed.

I took Frenchkiwi's initial post as being on the tongue-in-cheek side of things (rightly or wrongly), so my own reply was intentionally cheeky. I do feel that Opus X are rather overrated, but that's just my own opinion and should be taken as such - I wouldn't want to see them disappear. I also feel that to a certain extent, Cohiba are overrated, but that's also just my opinion and should be taken as such - I would by no means wish for them to disappear either. We have many members here who smoke NCs along with their favorite Cubans, and have had any number of discussions re NCs. And while there might be some good natured ribbing, I think the only time it might get slightly "heated" is when someone tries to force the issue from either side. As for running down things, I seem to recall a certain member's first post (via a friend of his) that could have been taken as running down that which he seemed not to like
LeafLover Posted January 29, 2011 Posted January 29, 2011 They can delete the roller who rolls the pluggies.
PigFish Posted January 29, 2011 Posted January 29, 2011 I never run anything down... I think opinionated people are disruptive, hateful, racist, homophobic.... they are no better than monotheists and monogamists!!! Frankly there is nothing I like at all about a masticating thespians!!! They are downright allergic! I love EL's... murdering political tyrants, H SA, taxes, government regulation and GUN CONTROL!!! GIVE ME MORE 56 RING CIGARS!!!!

To respond to Colt45's statement about the Opus X for example, I have tried them a few times, given them chance after chance - I've found I just do not get much flavor or satisfaction out of them at all. Plus the only real dings and jabs come on political subjects on the forum for those of us opinionated and state them. We all enjoy one main product and there's no difficulty for me in folks having either real love or real distaste for some smokes covered be they cuban or non. Enjoy and peace, all!

Colt45 Posted January 30, 2011 Posted January 30, 2011 Phew. First impressions last, eh? (Another fine mess you've got me into, Aizuddin!) !LOL!
frenchkiwi Posted March 2, 2011 Author Posted March 2, 2011 After finding a new post on the same topic, i'd conclude this one with summarising a rough deletions list, in order of preference, based on our sometimes converging opinions: 1- Montecristo Opens *WINNER* 2- Guantanamera 3- Cohiba Behikes 4- RyJ wide churchills 5- Vegueros More controversial deletions: 6- Cuaba 7- Cohiba 8- Partagas Culebras ...etc
semery74 Posted March 25, 2011 Posted March 25, 2011 Has anyone seen an official 2011 Deletion List yet?
kevinfj Posted March 25, 2011 Posted March 25, 2011 All of the RE's. Period. Marketing trash. Thats right.......... Sorry. Its the whiskey talking. FJ
