First Lady Posted January 19, 2011 Posted January 19, 2011 Okay as you know I will be in San Fran on the 22nd Feb until the 25th Feb Have spoken to a SF native and good friend who has suggested - Cigar Bar and Grill at 850 Montgomery as it serves food and drinks and has a out door patio to smoke , we had another location planned but not sure if it will come through or not so this is plan B Now the question is what night??? I think the Thursday night might be good but it is up to you who can make it Lisa

It is a nice place with a live Latin band on weekends (I paid $7 cover cash at the door). kyee Posted January 21, 2011 Posted January 21, 2011 I'm the one trying to put together an event at a friend's place in SF. He travels a lot, so I'll know better as the date nears whether or not that's going to pan out. 850 Montgomery is definitely a lot better place to meet than the Occidental. More space, better ambiance, etc. Also, if we get there early enough, they have a side room that's enclosed, w/couches, and you can still smoke in there too. The room is first come first served, you can't reserve it. Thursday night it is then, that's always a good party night. Looking forward to meeting all you Bay Area locals.

Kevin What time to what time is this happening? Im in the southbay couldnt get up there till later evening. 3 little kids at home. Agreed Occidental is much to small. Went there to meet an east coast botl. Very cramped.

I have 3 little ones and fourth and final is on the way. Working on trying to get some members of the bay area brothers of the leaf to come. Most of us live in areas othet then SF. Is everyone sure you can still smoke at the planned location. Last night we went to Occidental to welcome a botl on a business trip from Boston. One of the regulars at Occidental said the planned location had lost its smoking license. That left Occidental as the only place like it in the city.

However, in reality, the powers that be have chosen to "look the other way" for the time being. We've been at 850 Montgomery numerous times over the past couple of months - no problem whatsoever in smoking there.

kyee Posted February 22, 2011 Posted February 22, 2011 Just a reminder - our SF gathering is this Thursday at 850 Montgomery in SF. Gathering will be from 7pm till whenever. Weather forecast is for cold weather, so bring a thick jacket with you. It's an outdoors bar with heatlamps. They also serve food there. I'll be there before 7, will try to grab the only indoors smoking room they have - that room is first come first served. I'll be the asian guy with the silver Halliburton cigar briefcase. Looking forward to meeting you all there. kevin
