CigarB Posted January 18, 2011 Posted January 18, 2011 Are any of the robusto's really smoking head and shoulders above the rest right now? I'm thinking of just going with a split and having some variety. Also, any suggestions on a 3-5 pack (or singles) to round out the order? Anything a must try right now?
cigcars Posted January 18, 2011 Posted January 18, 2011 *Well, since you bring it up... * A Five pack variety, say oh Montecristo No. 2; Romeo & Julieta Belicoso Fino; Bolivar Belicoso Fino; H. Upmann No. 2; Vegas Robaina Unicos * How about a Five Pack - Romeo & Julieta Cazadores; Por Larranaga Petite Corona (really prefer a lonsdale but it seems it's discontinue); San Luis Rey Pacifico Regional (the torpedo); Montecristo No. 1; Vegas Robaina Classicos *Three pack possibilities: Punch Double Corona; Vegas Robaina Don Alejandro; Bolivar Gigantes *Also: Cohiba Esplendidos; Cohiba Siglo VI; Cohiba Millennium Reserve Pyramides My Little 2 cents!
cellinisart Posted January 18, 2011 Posted January 18, 2011 As some might suggest I wouldn't look for a size, look for what's tasting good. Look for aged stock 2 years plus. The young stuff is too tannic right now. petit coronas and half coronas are some of the best tasters, RASCC, PPP, JLPC, RGPC, PRS12, (BPC with 2 years +), PMF. Petit coronas are much cheaper than robustos and burn even longer. Every PC I just named taste better IMO than any of the robustos unless you get REAL lucky and get a box of cohiba rob. with the rare super sweet fruit and that's if you want to make a $325 dice roll.
