PigFish Posted November 16, 2010 Posted November 16, 2010 My God Dennis I am truly sorry to hear this. A loss of a loved one is tragic, the death of soldier fighting for my country is a tragic loss for those beyond his loving family. My friend if there is anything I can do for you please let me know. I have owed you a return email for sometime now but this news has stripped form me my roster of things to say. Please tell your sister that there are still those among us, perfect strangers that love her son and his family for his accomplishments, sacrifices and courageous duties in life. We will pray for her to find strength. Please accept my condolences and well wishes in this time of sorrow and drop me a line if you want to talk. I hope you won't mind if I smoke a nice cigar in his honor tomorrow. God bless you my friend. -Ray
daboose Posted November 16, 2010 Author Posted November 16, 2010 Words cannot express my deepest gratitude for everyone’s words of comfort. Thank you so much. The response from everyone has been breath taking; from you all, the local community, government officials and the military. Unfortunately this has become quite a media event in the Chicago area, especially since he was killed in action on the Marine Corp anniversary. The Patriot Guardian Riders will honor us by riding in the motorcade when James arrives at the airport to the funeral home and again from the services to the burial sight. Their presence will also help squash the insensitivity by any protesters who decide to show themselves as was done in Kansas. Drummers and pipers have volunteered to “pipe him home.” Unbelievable. Piggy et al, James’ father and I will be smoking several of my finest in his honour. James and his father smoked together when they ‘bonded’, especially before he went to war. (Lise, can I have rain check in that hug?) The war in Afghanistan has touched our family and has made us stronger. Thank you again brothers and have a great Thanksgiving. I know our family will. So long for now, Dennis
Nino Posted November 16, 2010 Posted November 16, 2010 Dennis, my most sincere condolences on the loss of your nephew.
puros71 Posted November 16, 2010 Posted November 16, 2010 Sorry to here the loss of another brother. As a Marine combat veteran, I consider all Marines my brothers. Was he with 3bn 5th Marines? Well I too have a nephew with Weapons Company 3/5 Mortors, PFC Juan Hernandez, his batallion lost 9 Marines last week. Semper Fidelis

T297 Posted November 17, 2010 Posted November 17, 2010 I received some bad news last week from my sister. My nephew, Lance Corporal James Stack, was shot and killed while on patrol in Afghanistan. We’re sadden and grieved but celebrate his bravery, dedication and the fact he’s now with our savior and Lord. Arlington Heights Marine Killed on Marine Corps' Birthday http://www.nbcchicago.com/news/local-beat/...-107369803.html Another fine, young man has been laid on the altar of our nation’s freedom – he and all who have served will not be forgotten! Funeral services for Lance Corporal Stack will be on the 20th. A very proud uncle and U.S. Navy veteran, Dennis My heart goes out to you and your family. Semper Fi Lance Corporal Stack the streets in heaven are a safer place with you there. Sgt. Oscar Torres III
dizedean Posted November 17, 2010 Posted November 17, 2010 My sincerest condolences to you and your entire family. We are grateful to our military and their families for the difficult sacrifices they make. "I pray that our Heavenly Father may assuage the anguish of your bereavement, and leave you only the cherished memory of the loved and lost, and the solemn pride that must be yours to have laid so costly a sacrifice upon the altar of freedom." A. Lincoln
qman22 Posted November 17, 2010 Posted November 17, 2010 My condolences to you and your family. I will keep Lance Corporal Stack in my prayers.
matt14 Posted November 18, 2010 Posted November 18, 2010 Condolences, It is the soldier, not the reporter, Who has given us freedom of the press. It is the soldier, not the poet, Who has given us freedom of speech. It is the soldier, not the organizer, Who has given us the freedom to demonstrate. It is the soldier, Who salutes the flag, Who serves beneath the flag, And whose coffin is draped by the flag, Who allows the protestor to burn the flag
