agentdaffy007 Posted October 27, 2010 Posted October 27, 2010 First review here. I had to. LoL I got myself a nice box of 24 Trinidad Reyes. What a lovely cigar. Every cigar i tried in this box except for the first one has been stellar. Especially the one i smoked today before working. Box code is from OUR NOV 08. This will be a quick review since i am still at work writing this. Construction: No soft spots, spongy but not too much. 10/10 Draw: Perfect draw. Usually, i like Robusto size since they make tons of smoke but wow, this little cigar was a nice surprise. Even more smoke than a Robusto. 10/10 Flavour: 1/3: wood chips, sweet cedar 2/3: sweet hay, very little spice (very hard to distinguish) 3/3: nougat? sweet cherry? couldn't tell since i had to put it out. Work was calling me. 10/10 (yes, it was that good) I wish i had more time to finish this cigar, oh well, still have 20 to go. This cigar along with HdM Petit Robusto from 2005 and Monte#4 from 2008 are my favorites. Remember, age these cigars and they will treat you well.
CanuckSARTech Posted October 28, 2010 Posted October 28, 2010 Sounds great. I just recently got an HQ box from Czar's of these exact same Reyes, with the same date/factory code. I'm looking forward to this box even more now - thanks! Great review too - keep 'em coming!
adic88 Posted October 28, 2010 Posted October 28, 2010 I've generally been impressed with the Trinidads especially from the last couple of years, the Robusto T has to take the robusto cake for my money. When they first came out, i remember people thinking that this was a high-brow knock-off of Cohibas to squeeze more money out of us. But now it's quite the staple for many aficionados.
hddeucebrad01 Posted October 28, 2010 Posted October 28, 2010 Nice review and one of my favorite small smokes!
agentdaffy007 Posted October 28, 2010 Author Posted October 28, 2010 Canuck: You will love these cigars. Write a review once you've tried one. Wondering if they will taste exactly like mine. I paired mine with a Coke and it was delicious. I read somewhere that Coke + hints of lime was the way to go. Aizuddin: I am desperately trying to get those Trinidad Robusto T from Cuba but it seems like no one has them...

Yeah, I have a bottle of "Real Lime" in the fridge at all times - I find Bacardi white with Coke just goes perfectly with a hit of lime. My darker rums, like HC Anejo 7 Anos, just stays with a splash of Coke (don't want the lime interferring with that one!). With the Trini T's, they've popped up from time to time on the LFTH threads. Keep your eyes peeled. I have a request in to Lisa for any HQ/PSP that show up, but if you message her, she can put you on her "list" also maybe.
