Laxman Posted October 24, 2010 Posted October 24, 2010 Would have to go with RASS 08 have a few boxes and they have become my give away cigars. BBF as of late has been a huge let down. As far as the Monte 2 goes, maybe it has been because I only have bought PSP boxes, but they have been the best I have had in ages.
Martindelmundo Posted October 24, 2010 Posted October 24, 2010 RASS 06 Insipid 4 out of 5 cigars , still have the last one to give away Siglo VI Over-priced, draw problems and not too flavourful. Hate to buy another one to give it another shot because the price
armedak Posted October 24, 2010 Posted October 24, 2010 Wow, looks like lots of folks don't like fresh RASS Some like them fresh, but I'm not one of them. This is one marca which really shines with age on them. They are too harsh for me until they have at least 3 years on them and 5 years is even better. Put them away for a few years and I think you will be well rewarded.

But it seems to me they have really fallen off the cliff recently. I have had boxes in the past that weren't up to par off the bat and did improve substantially with age. But I'm not sure a truly rancid box of any cigar will ever magically transform into a swan. I may be completely wrong, (feel free to correct me if you think I am) but I believe in the rule: Crap in...Crap out. Rob

ama Posted October 25, 2010 Posted October 25, 2010 09 RASCC - rolled tightly, no flavor and all around blech. Tried two different boxes too.
micha Posted October 25, 2010 Posted October 25, 2010 I have to agree on the RASS. I was really exited to try them out (bought a couple of 09s) due to the praises they have gotten and was so disappointed. In fact it were the only cigars I had ever to throw away due to their taste. I would have actually preferred to chew on a piece of tar instead. I'm not sure about their ageing potential but I'm highly in doubt with the ones I've got. Nevertheless I'll put the rest away for some time and see if they get any better. But up to now it is the greatest letdown in my short history of cubans. In fact, if those had been my first cubans to try and someone had told me that these are what cuban cigars are all about I don't think that I would have ever gotten into it. Had some other disappointments too but none worth mentioning in comparison to those.
