Baldy Posted October 16, 2010 Posted October 16, 2010 Hello from Western Canada. A thank you to Onsto for directing me this way. A lot of familiar names here and a few good friends. Very nice board and community you have here. A little about me. I've been smoking cigars for about 3 years now. Started when a client invited me to join him in Havana. We went to the Partagas factory and was gifted a box of Siglo VI and CoRo. As I don't smoke anything back then, I promptly gave it all away upon my return to Canada. A few months later, another trip to Havana, another visit to a LCDH (Melia Cohiba), another box of VI and CoRo and prompt disposal again. (Yes I'm a friggin IDIOT! LOL.) Six months later, another trip to Havana, another......but this time I kept 5 each of CoRO and VI for myself. Put them in a ziploc bag and threw them in the freezer. About 3 years ago after a concert, while sitting on my back porch, a buddy of mine suggested that maybe a cigar would be nice. So out came the frozen cigar, box cutter, BBQ lighter and lite one up. Ever since then I've been hooked. I smoke mainly Cubans and find there's very few Cubans that I don't like. Yes I'm a Cuban *****. My modest collection used to be 50% CC and 50% NC but only have 1 NC left. The cigar journey over the past 3 years have been most enjoyable, rewarding, and enriching. As much as I love cigars, I find the cigar culture and the many BOTL that I've met due to cigars have been even better. In general, folks in this lifestyle of ours are some of the most generous and sincere people I've been fortunate enough to meet. I'm fortunate to have met many brothers in Calgary, Vancouver and Winnipeg who are slowly but surely becoming my lifelong friends. For this I am most grateful for. Beyond cigars I'm a computer geek, avid traveler, sports fan and outdoorsman. David PS - Give me all your sources and celo on or celo off? LOL, just kidding just kidding.
