PigFish Posted October 11, 2010 Posted October 11, 2010 I think you should model him after me. Like FoH we have Kenny Gargett. Kenny is your front man. Plug in name here (Brut Boxwine) would be Kenny's nemesis, kinda' like I am!!! His tastes would rival Ken's but Brut would be a cantankerous curmudgeon like your own Mr. Piggy. He would fight for lesser (cost) better wines that don't get the press of the expensive stuff. He would resist the nouveau. He would be advocate historic, niche lesser known wine for the common man. He would be a boorish fellow! At the beginning of his segment Brut should be pushing away and concealing old beer cans!!! I think Brut's living should be from taxidermy. -LOL
Ken Gargett Posted October 11, 2010 Posted October 11, 2010 the swig it must be. am i ever to be consulted on these things?
coneatty Posted October 11, 2010 Posted October 11, 2010 How about "Edmundo, the Grapinator?" Pourmaster extraordinaire from the wilds of upper Tazmania?
CanuckSARTech Posted October 11, 2010 Posted October 11, 2010 Well, maybe in honour of the French and their endless contributions to wine over the millenia, how about "Tasteless", but in French - "Insipide"? I also found a number of synonyms for Insipide that might work: 1.insipide 2.sans goût 3.sans saveur 4.fade 5.de mauvais goût 6.vulgaire 7.fadasse I kind of like the Fadasse one. It would be interesting to see Ken work his way around the pronunciation of that one after a few glasses.
First Lady Posted October 11, 2010 Posted October 11, 2010 I think you should call him Nacho and he has to wear a mask like this
Dbone Posted October 11, 2010 Posted October 11, 2010 I count over 80 names so far Rob / Ken. How are you going to choose? Any top runners yet?
El Presidente Posted October 11, 2010 Author Posted October 11, 2010 I count over 80 names so far Rob / Ken. How are you going to choose? Any top runners yet? I will let Elie choose and announce the winner
LeafLover Posted October 12, 2010 Posted October 12, 2010 Pittance. Because that's what he will get paid to do the show, other than all the wine he could drink.
OZCUBAN Posted October 12, 2010 Posted October 12, 2010 I like the idea of BOUCHON which means among other things(a stopper or cork at the mouth of a bottle) Or El Vino But i also like the idea of the Swig Cheers
jmasterj Posted October 12, 2010 Posted October 12, 2010 Not sure if these have been spoke for yet: Mousy = A disagreeable odor in wines made from late-harvested grapes or low-acid musts and caused by bacteria. OR The Snooth = to seek out a preferable wine; to uncover details of a specific wine.
Smallclub Posted October 12, 2010 Posted October 12, 2010 TIRE-BOUCHON (corkscrew in french) PIERRE LE SOMMELIER (I'm sure it sounds funny with the aussie accent )
jfire Posted October 12, 2010 Posted October 12, 2010 Why not just name him Foh. Linking the 2 sites together in a behind the scenes type of way?
maalouly Posted October 12, 2010 Posted October 12, 2010 TIRE-BOUCHON (corkscrew in french)PIERRE LE SOMMELIER (I'm sure it sounds funny with the aussie accent ) Ken can barely pronounce his name, imagine him trying to pronounce Pierre! There are some great suggestions out there, keep them coming we will announce the winner by Friday. Cheers, Elie.
GAZHOG Posted October 12, 2010 Posted October 12, 2010 Inspired by the Droid discussion, Piggy and the very intriguing Aussie interp, how about Root....or Roots
