I don't think this cigar has ever been discussed on FOH.

For those that have indulged...your thoughts? Came across some good boxes when in the warehouse last (the first time I have found good boxes of these in years).

I haven't had one in 12 months and my experience was so so but it was ugly as sin with all the tell tale signs of mediocrity...little aroma at cold, papery dry wrapper ...and the end experience was average at best.

Fill me in those who have had one recently or have memories (good or bad) of them.

I haven't indulged in any of the RyJ line for a number of years now. They just don't have anything that seems to stand out and scream "smoke me" when a number of the other lines clearly do.

I'd love to see some of their vitolas make a come back. It's a true historical line and should offer some stand outs.

I'm really not a fan of RYJ in general either, but was pleasantly surprised by one of these after it had sat in my humidor for a bit. To be honest, probably the only positive experience I've had with the brand (excluding the short churchill, as it was one of my first cubans!).

I've not had the corona, but did enjoy the coronas en cedros, and also had ashort Churchill recently, which was also good.

I also brought some No 2 tubos from Cuba, which after a while, were very good.

The RyJ Coronas is one of the very few cuban cigars that I've sold off. I find something to like in most cuban cigars, but that box, a '98, turned really nasty in the space of a year or two. Never bought another box...

I've smoked a couple. Just an average cigar. Nothing really outstanding. I'm not a RyJ fan, though. Only ones I buy regularly are Cazadores & EX#3.

Used to be a big fan of the R&J churchill in the late 80's very early 90's.

The line has pretty much self decimated in the while as I have given up trying and getting disappointed again and again.

Well, a month or two ago I introduced a fellow BOTL to FOH site and his first order was a box of Romeo #1 in tubo.

He handed me one as a thank you for the intro. I reluctantly cracked it open a few weeks ago and gave it a try.

Ugly looking crap stick, blotchy, poor wrapper, no oils/sheen, little smell at cold. I lit it up on the way home after a long day.

Wow! fresh and maraschino cherries, with a light sweet cake interplay with good tobacco flavor and a medium to longish finish! I was dumbfounded and very pleasantly surprised. Certainly a very enjoyable smoke. Sure it could have been more flavorful but it certainly brought back memories of how much I used to enjoy the cherry profile in the R&J line.
