El Presidente Posted September 30, 2010 Posted September 30, 2010 ...interesting past 48 hours Catch up with Elie/Jo/Andrew for a little meeting (cigar/wines/etc) that went on to dinner at an Indian restaurant..Verishamanaasomething. Elie asks to see the cook as his North Indian Curry tastes more like North east....or spmetjing like that Chef Apu was delighted to have an Indian expert in his presence and proceeded to tell the tale of woe of pandering to locale palates. Elie gave him 5 dishes to prepare for thusday lunch. Bone marrow curry etc etc. I have not seen a more overjoyed chef in my life. Elie and I drank, apparently we called Ken....I slept well. Yesterday afternoon I had to catch up with Sam, a business colleague of mine. 5pm COHIBAR. Elie joined us as 7PM as I wanted to introduce them. We kicked on to dinner...everyone got on famously Post dinner drinks at a great bar overlooking the city followed by a hit at the casino tables. I think I got home around 2 or 4. i went to the warehouse this morning and fell off the ladder.....twice. 12:15 pm and i am currently sitting in an empty Indian restaurant. Indian is the last thing I feel the need for right now. The smell nauseating (I am sure it is normally delightful). Elie isn't here. No one is here but the chef is preparing an exotic feast for 5 people. He keeps coming out and asking me to taste. I hate him. In between this I managed to pick some nice stock. I just have to make the plane this afternoon.
Wicky Posted September 30, 2010 Posted September 30, 2010 The sacrifices you make for your profession are to be commended.

rdb6 Posted September 30, 2010 Posted September 30, 2010 Prez, it's a tough job but someone has to do it. No one does it better. After the first fall from the ladder, why would you go up again?

CanuckSARTech Posted October 1, 2010 Posted October 1, 2010 RA - you've got a hard life by the sounds of things. Oh, the inhumanity!!! If you need a break, you're more than welcome to come up here for our Canadian get-together in Toronto later on this month; you can enjoy the pretty fall colours of the trees, and imbibe in some awesome Canadian wine and spirits!
