asmith Posted September 28, 2010 Posted September 28, 2010 Ken and Rob try out this cigar with a couple of glasses of champagne.
MoneyPit Posted September 28, 2010 Posted September 28, 2010 We'll be back for the end of the last third... you moron. Thanks for the review guys, enjoyed it as always!
Puros Y Vino Posted September 28, 2010 Posted September 28, 2010 Rob is absolutely right. That is a dessert in a cigar. Fun review as always. The Genios are one of my top three cigars. The flavours are rich and complex, never boring.
dicko Posted September 28, 2010 Posted September 28, 2010 Thanks for the review!!! I have a few singles im looking forward to trying, enjoyed the secretos :-)
LeafLover Posted September 28, 2010 Posted September 28, 2010 Great review Rob and Ken. Now the Genios is on my radar. BTW, neither of you are Scotch drinkers with your cigars? Would love to see you both do a review with Scotch and review some scotch. Particularly single malt.
Dbone Posted September 28, 2010 Posted September 28, 2010 Real nice video guys. I've not had the Genios, I'm on my second box of Magicos. As the saying goes, if it isn't broke don't fix it. I love the Magicos and I'm sure they share a lot with the Genios. I agree with Ken's statement, if there wasn't a Cohbia band on the cigar you'd never guess. It's the tea / grassiness that's not present in these cigars. Replaced with a sweetness intermixed with wood, leather, and chocolate. The value is decent, 25 "very good" cigars. Pay the same for 15 behike? For a special occasion cigar Id take the Maduro box first.
Dbone Posted September 28, 2010 Posted September 28, 2010 Lol, was poking around the video reviews and found this Manduro 5 Genios video review Similar review, although I this newer video Rob didn't taste the "Oreo rolled cigar" flavor Then again there wasn't two bottles of champagne killed durning the review.
El Presidente Posted September 28, 2010 Posted September 28, 2010 Great review Rob and Ken. Now the Genios is on my radar. BTW, neither of you are Scotch drinkers with your cigars? Would love to see you both do a review with Scotch and review some scotch. Particularly single malt. Just what we need Will do soon.
Ken Gargett Posted September 28, 2010 Posted September 28, 2010 Just what we need Will do soon. just here to help.
CanuckSARTech Posted September 28, 2010 Posted September 28, 2010 Well done, gentlemen. Hit the nail on the head for this cigar, as to what I've also experienced with them (April 2007 date, from my dossier). Still prefer the Secretos though, but the Genios is indeed nice too. And....supermodels you are not. Sorry to burst your bubble.
Ken Gargett Posted September 29, 2010 Posted September 29, 2010 spitbucket update - december 1 launch. stay tuned sports fans.
akoretz Posted September 29, 2010 Posted September 29, 2010 Rob and Ken, thank you so much for the great review. You have convinced me to pick up a couple of these Genios and give them a try.
hddeucebrad01 Posted September 30, 2010 Posted September 30, 2010 Great review but now I will have to pull one out of the humi when I get home and ENJOY!!
frenchkiwi Posted October 6, 2010 Posted October 6, 2010 thanks fellas tried a single a couple of days after my son was born in november, on rob's advice actually, just didn't have the cash for a box. Still don't! very nice as i recall, no huge evolution in flavours but just sweet smooth with a rich meaty body. went well with a sherry someone bought me to "wet the baby's head". Very much a dessert in itself. And good for when you want to concentrate on something else. In terms of champers, whaddya reckon goes best with cigar - sweeter ones a la veuve clicquot style or...?
Ken Gargett Posted October 7, 2010 Posted October 7, 2010 In terms of champers, whaddya reckon goes best with cigar - sweeter ones a la veuve clicquot style or...? /quote] i'm interested in that last comment. do you mean their demi sec style or veuve in general?
ayepatz Posted February 28, 2014 Posted February 28, 2014 Flan. I have just snorted Pink Gin and Tonic down my shirt on the train home. People are looking at me...
