akoretz Posted September 24, 2010 Posted September 24, 2010 I joined the forum this morning and have spent a good amount of time reading reviews today. I am looking for a roasted, medium body cigar with a draw of cocoa flavor. I have read some really great stuff about the Cohiba Maduro Genios, but I feel like that may be jumping in the deep end before I experience some obvious 'beginner' choices. Sorry to sound so ignorant, but can somebody recommend a couple cigars for me, or if you really want to encourage the Cohiba, let me know. Thank you.
JasonInChiTown Posted September 24, 2010 Posted September 24, 2010 Try a Hoyo Epicure #1 I find those have a similar taste profile to what you may be looking for.
CigarCanuck Posted September 24, 2010 Posted September 24, 2010 Try a Vegas Robaina Famosos or for a sweeter profile try a H.Upmann 48. Enjoy
Colt45 Posted September 24, 2010 Posted September 24, 2010 Try a Hoyo Epicure #1 my first thought as well.
CanuckSARTech Posted September 25, 2010 Posted September 25, 2010 I agree with all so far, and would definitely vouch for the Cohiba Secretos. I'd also maybe add the Monte #4 - maybe more creamy coffee there as a dominant feature, but definitely meets the other requirements (toasted, medium body, some cocoa flavour).
drake2k Posted September 25, 2010 Posted September 25, 2010 My first thought is Montecristo Grand Edmundo 2010 EL. It matches your profile almost exactly.
akoretz Posted September 28, 2010 Author Posted September 28, 2010 Thank you all for the suggestions, it looks like I have my work cut out for me and a few to try.
