FlyFishingDude Posted September 17, 2010 Posted September 17, 2010 Was invited up to my uncle's house in Montana and of course we did a little fishing. Didn't know about the snow. Tried to sneak up on some fish. And it worked. Oops, fumblerooski Ken? Ken? I know your down there somewhere. Adios
Tony12 Posted September 17, 2010 Posted September 17, 2010 Nice Pics. What kind of patterns did you throw.

Ken Gargett Posted September 17, 2010 Posted September 17, 2010 great stuff. but what do you use that bait for after you've caught it? actually, dearly love to fish montana. a mate has a place there and very kindly extended an invite. would love to do it sometime.
rckymtn22 Posted September 17, 2010 Posted September 17, 2010 Great pictures. Looks similar to places around here. What part of Montana?

Thanks all for the nice comments. Total stress relief. You need to go Ken, make it happen. All the fishing was done right around Bozeman, Montana smack dab in the middle of the Yellowstone, Madison, and Gallatin river areas. I was hopping the fish were keying in on hoppers but no such luck. I had one really nice cutt come up behind my hopper and bump it twice and just back pedal watching it but wouldn't take. It made the whole trip, I wish I had a video camera, it was awesome. They were hammering Elk Hair Caddis and Parachute Adams but didn't catch any with droppers. Here's a picture of a sculpture in the town square of Ennis, Montana. Do you think they cater to fly fishing folks?
Ken Gargett Posted September 18, 2010 Posted September 18, 2010 i've got a few days in nz's south island next month and cannot wait. already looking at booking a few more days early next year.
oakley Posted September 18, 2010 Posted September 18, 2010 Wow, those photos of Montana are beautiful, particularly the last one.
