just had a call from a woman ("carol", though we both knew that wasn't true) from the sub-continent claiming to be from microsoft saying they'd discovered a malicious file or something in my computer and wanting to put me through the process of getting rid of it. asked for a number as anyone who rings me cold is always considered highly suss.

from what i can work out, it is a common scam to get into the computer.

if you get the call, get a number and see where it leads.

Gosh Ken, I am sooooo jealous! I never get any women calling me...

Don't be jealous - her real name was probably Frank. ;);)
