El Presidente Posted September 6, 2010 Author Posted September 6, 2010 The poll is testament to the comeback of the Magnum 46 in late 07/08/09. For a few years prior it was friendless after a capitulation in blend/quality.
CanuckSARTech Posted September 6, 2010 Posted September 6, 2010 The poll is testament to the comeback of the Magnum 46 in late 07/08/09. For a few years prior it was friendless after a capitulation in blend/quality. That's one of what I voted for also (the other was the Cohiba Siglo IV). The Mag 46's have been divine in the tubos format lately, the newer orange & cream tubos. I don't know if it's the "wine-in-a-bottle" effect, or what not, but they've been refined and spectacular.
ksblazer Posted September 7, 2010 Posted September 7, 2010 Siglo IV and RGCE for me While I haven't smoked a recent (07-10) Upmann that I didn't like. I have yet to give the Mag 46's a try. Sounds like I need too.
winelover Posted September 7, 2010 Posted September 7, 2010 I voted Siglo IV and Magnum46. I've only ever had one sigloIV and it had about 5 yrs age on it and was outstanding. I voted for the Upmann as I love the distinctive Upmann blend and old school tobacco flavours.
bassman Posted September 8, 2010 Posted September 8, 2010 I did not think the Boli CE was a corona gorda but I love them, so it got my vote. Also voted Siglo IV for the sake of the poll, since you neglected to include my beloved RyJ EX#3s.
aavkk Posted September 11, 2010 Posted September 11, 2010 guys the JL1's from 08 have been magnificent. That was my first choice- my second came down to the Siglo IV and the BCE... I went with the Siglo IV. Rob, enjoy the trip with the boys and it sounds like its about time your oldest gets a chance to smoke with you.
PointSource Posted September 11, 2010 Posted September 11, 2010 My two favorites are the BCE and Siglo IV.....
Custom56 Posted September 12, 2010 Posted September 12, 2010 JL No 1 and SLR serie A for me, no doubt in my mind.
CohibaBehike Posted May 10, 2011 Posted May 10, 2011 Bolivar and Cohiba, one for the morning and one for the night
thechenman Posted May 10, 2011 Posted May 10, 2011 Can';t believe I missed this post when it came out originally. I cast my vote for the BCE and the Siglo IV. The Mag 46 was in a close race with the Cohiba for the 2nd slot, but the Siglo IV won out in the end...solely because I prefer my Mag 46 with some age on them.
Michel1968 Posted May 10, 2011 Posted May 10, 2011 RG Corona Extra and JL Seleccion No. 1 Both (perhaps) not the best in the gorda range but having a RG CE in the morning with fresh coffee sitting outside in front of a tent is something I might consider doing right here and now. The JL would do very nicely after a good meal sitting outside in front of a tent reflecting the day whilst starring into a campfire...
cigarroverzulu Posted May 10, 2011 Posted May 10, 2011 Do I have to take the Old Lady on this vacation you speak of ??? She'll sour the cigars!!!
cgarner Posted May 11, 2011 Posted May 11, 2011 Not much love for the JL #1. I have been thoroughly enjoying the box Rob picked out for me.
mbrody Posted May 11, 2011 Posted May 11, 2011 Not much love for the JL #1. I have been thoroughly enjoying the box Rob picked out for me. The more love, the more popular, then whammo...no great JL1 for us! Keep em quiet!
SCgarman Posted May 12, 2011 Posted May 12, 2011 I would say the Bolivar Corona Extra and the Rafael Gonzales Corona Extra which by the way I heard was discontinued. Besides these two, the only other one I tried is the Juan Lopez Selection#1, which I have a box of from October 2005. I really enjoy the Rafael G's, some say they have a flavor that mimics a 1960's Montecristo, anyway I wish I knew where to get more of them, I have less than 10 left in the Humidor.
SethLG Posted May 12, 2011 Posted May 12, 2011 What a tough choice, probably the hardest choice for me.
