tsolomon Posted August 27, 2010 Posted August 27, 2010 Pretty soon everything will have been listed. VR Famosos RASS RASCC and a +1 Party Shorts
android Posted August 28, 2010 Posted August 28, 2010 Get the gorgeous Lise to put a sampler platter together for you...or try and get some of the soon to be forgotten thin ring gauge smokes that are pack full of amazing flavors and r typically overlooked by so many. U will b glad that you did.
CanuckSARTech Posted August 28, 2010 Posted August 28, 2010 Good call. Although I'm yet to try the Magicos or the Genios, I also agree that the Secretos is a great value cigar. Really packed with flavour, and so different. It's worth at least grabbing a couple of singles. I was going to get some singles of the Magicos or genios, but so many people have said that the Secretos is better than them, I don't think I'll bother spending the higher amount of money. with my 2 cents, that's 4 cents worth! They're definitely worth a try, don't get me wrong - every cigar should be tried at least twice, to give it a fair shake (my thoughts anyways). But, I just think the Secretos comes out heads above the others.
Dbone Posted August 28, 2010 Posted August 28, 2010 Let's just finish the line up here. Red, a staple in my rotation for years has been the trini reyes. I'm not sure where you're located, I'm in Chicagoland. I tend to smoke more Reyes in the fall / winter time because of the size and flavor. It's a hearty / med bodied cigar with cedar, pepper, and cream. The little guy produces a great amount of smoke, last about 45+ minutes and smoke well without much age. And they're easy on the budget. I have an un opened box that I'll crack open probably around Labor day and smoke thru until the weather allows.

U will b glad that you did. dead right. many great thinner ring gauge are going. currently I'm puffing on some punch RS12,and some diplomatico 4,both of which are going. So I personally am working my way through the slimmer gauge cigars,ie Hoyo, boli gold, etc.I am finding these slimmer ring gauge are great for flavour!Contemplating some vigueros(does anyone ever buy em?) other than that,San Christobel la Punta, and El Rey choix supreme match your flavour likes I think,or go for a curve ball of Boli royal coronas, which are a milder Boli, and very good!
redlir Posted August 28, 2010 Author Posted August 28, 2010 A lot of great suggestions in this thread to give me some ideas! I also just snagged a 10 box of Monte 2's from the 'live from the humidor' sessions. I like monte 2's and really want to see how a HQ Czar box compares to the offerings I've tried locally. I definitely see some partagas shorts in my immediate future as well.. How can you go wrong for the price!

redlir Posted September 4, 2010 Author Posted September 4, 2010 I'll probably get some RASS next but I did pick up a box of Bolivar PC's.. The box code was LRE Sep 09.. I now understand what 'earthy' means in a cigar. WOW! Nice heavy medium to medium full lots of earth.. splash of coffee/chocolate with spice.

The Bolivar Corona Extras are hitting the spot for me right now. Can't go wrong with a Boli.
redlir Posted September 6, 2010 Author Posted September 6, 2010 Thanks again to everyone who chimed in. I still have some Monte 2's and Partagas D4's on the way from the Czar, but I decided to go as suggested here and have Lisa put together a sampler for me. I hope she doesn't want to kill me on a Monday lol, but I've gone with almost everything under the sun. If this doesn't give me an idea, I'm not sure what will H. UPMANN CONNOISSEUR NO.1 H. michaelhealy Posted September 6, 2010 Posted September 6, 2010 Cohiba Robustos and Partagas Serie D No. 4's are a good go-to to stock, and something from San Cristobal de La Habana (La Fuerza, maybe) especially if you like the nuttier profile. Maybe Partagas 898's or a nice box of VR famosos, or mayeb Bolivar Royal Coronas......So hard to choose
