oakley Posted August 24, 2010 Posted August 24, 2010 My first review here. Not native english speaker. I want to share my experience with this little cigr because I really enjoyed it. I read elsewhere that it is not considered a top class cigar and therefore was not expecting too much, but I was surprised by its qualities! First third - sweet flavour, honey, aromatic. Bitterness almost non present (bitterness is the factor I mostly dislike in a cigar). Second third - a decise dark chocolate and a pleasant cocoa. After each puff a very nice fruit odor came to my nose, very rich and complex. Final third - bitterness came in, but very light, bearable to me and mixed with fruit puffs and creamy sensation on the tongue. I loved this cigar and hope that the next one will be at the same level. I want to recommend this one. Enjoy it! Andrew
dicko Posted August 25, 2010 Posted August 25, 2010 thanks andrew! sounds like a good little cheap & cheerful cigar, which I'm always on the look out for. do you smoke a lot of punch? love your avatar!!
CanuckSARTech Posted August 25, 2010 Posted August 25, 2010 Well done, thank you. Not a big fan of the Punch line, but after reading this review, I almost feel like trying this one out again. Thanks. Cheers.
ksblazer Posted August 26, 2010 Posted August 26, 2010 Thanks for the review. This is a cigar that I've been wanting to try. I really enjoy the punch line.
CUBANO Posted August 26, 2010 Posted August 26, 2010 Thanks for the review. I bought the same cigar at the LCDH in Cancun, and have it resting in the humidor. I hope is as good as your review.
BeeStinga Posted August 26, 2010 Posted August 26, 2010 Thanks Andrew, for bringing these up.. I have picked up 3 of these over the last 6 months, they are sold at the counter of local alcohol wholesalers in almost militant looking tubos which attracted me to give them a try (don't know what that says about me). I generally avoid purchases from this sort of outfit but thought they looked kind of cute cocooned in the little screw top tubos. As such not that cheap and cheerful. Much better (pricewise and storage wise) to get from a dedicated cigar supplier. But I was pleasently surprised as I wasn't expecting much. Similar thoughts to yourself although I wouldn't have called my examples complex, I almost prefer the final third of such a cigar, when things get 'a bit' more bold and not as mild. I would sum it up as a fairly mild, mellow cigar, on the sweet side but not overly complex but easy to smoke if you are in the mood for a relatively short chill out smoke with no great expectations. I might pick up a couple of singles for the humidor, but wouldn't get a box myself. Worth a try if you haven't. My first review here. Not native english speaker.
