I used to think he was pretty awesome in Mad Max. When he was an Aussie.

Same here - my earliest memories of him is the role in "The Year of Living dangerously", a movie that still impresses me deeply and brings back memories of Jakarta.

One thing you need to keep in mind about these recordings is that they would not be admissible in court. She is releasing these because she wants to influence any possible upcoming jury.

While the man is obviously acting like a tool,Mad Max is a brilliant film,which is how I'd like to think of him,as he was great in it.

Still, there are two sides to this story, and I smell a set-up here.

We all know that there is never a valid reason for a man to subject a woman to physical violence;

yet it is entirely possible, especially for a guy with more brawn than brain,

who knows exactly which buttons to push to send him right over the edge.

That is exactly what I thought. He has to be blamed for most of this, but what kind of person records conversations like that in the manner in which she did? It sounded like a complete setup, considering the complete calmness and clarity of her voice and the fact that she lists exactly what he did as if it were a case in court.
