davidjfingerlos Posted July 10, 2010 Posted July 10, 2010 Hi all. I'm new 'round here, but one of my goals in life is to smoke a genuine cuban. The problem is, I live in the U.S. (Atlanta). So, technically, that's a no-no from what I understand - even if one travels outside the U.S. - right? SO - my question is, what options do I have, if any?
Habanos2000 Posted July 10, 2010 Posted July 10, 2010 Oh, there are plenty of options.... hang around here and pick up some ideas through the reviews and comments on what cigars are smoking well, determine what flavors you might find to your liking, etc. There's a wealth of knowledge on this board, just sit back, take it all in and then take the plunge. You'll catch on quick.
Colt45 Posted July 10, 2010 Posted July 10, 2010 As H2K has said, take your time, do some reading, post as is comfortable, get to know us, let us get to know you. Generally speaking, as you might expect, we don't discuss certain aspects openly here on the forum. Probably of the most import, an introductory email to Lisa and / or Rob should go a long way to helping you walk to the light and allay any concerns you might have Welcome to FOH.

I guess you fear the $250,000 fine if you record a movie on you old VCR or new DVR??? Geeezzz ... I HATE to sound so flippant about - "The LAW!" But remember - the very politicians and senators who forbade us regular folk from enjoying havanas are the very ones who momentarily changed the law in about 1999 or so when they made a special visit to Cuba ... so they could bring back more than the $100 limit on Cuban cigars, AND to be allowed to bring some back, period. Then they changed the "LAW" back after they were satiated with THEIR wares don't get me started. These things are to only put up a Pretense of legalism. They don't care about that shite. It's SELECTED enforcement. Look in the various cigar related mag's & see HOW many celebrities and other POLITICIANS get all the Cubans they want. Look on the magazine covers of their publications and see Mel and Stallone and Demi and others in full view, inside the US with Cohibas and Romeo Y Julietas, etc. with the HABANA cigar labels...too late - I started.
