Nino Posted July 7, 2010 Posted July 7, 2010 Well, it's going to be difficult to predict anything for tonight's game, Germany go in as favourites, Spain can make it. I've changed my cigar choice ; anticipating a possible extra time & shoot-out I've chosen a Reynaldo Mara-VILLA that gives us ample smoking time and celebration smoke trails. Last time I smoked one in HAV it took almost 3 hrs to reduce it to Robusto size Here's a guide on how to squeeze the round thing for each side : Nino
mazolaman Posted July 7, 2010 Posted July 7, 2010 Nice one Nino. Glad The Netherlands are through, but blimey, that was a dull game! I just hope for a good game, with no controversy,or blind refereeing!
khomeinist Posted July 7, 2010 Posted July 7, 2010 NED/Uruguay was a masterpiece next to Spain/Germany. Yeesh. Congrats to Spain for closing down the German lanes. Tactically, I think Germany should have tried more flanking maneuvers. I am sure they missed Muller. Anyway. Go Oranje!
jquest63 Posted July 7, 2010 Posted July 7, 2010 Congratulations Spain! NED vs. Spain should be a great game. Go Spain!
Nino Posted July 7, 2010 Posted July 7, 2010 Nice one Nino.Glad The Netherlands are through, but blimey, that was a dull game! I just hope for a good game, with no controversy,or blind refereeing! Well, you just had your hope fullfilled - good game, no controversy, no blind refs, not even a yellow card. Regards from a German / Spanish Mara-Villa smoking team ! Nino
Habanos2000 Posted July 8, 2010 Posted July 8, 2010 that just didn't look like the same team that played Argentina. I'm bummed and will never drink Spanish wine again... at least until the WC is over. Go Oranje!!
partagasd4 Posted July 8, 2010 Posted July 8, 2010 So disappointing. I'm sure that Muller being gone played a part in their loss. There's still one game left, I hope they can regroup and destroy Uruguay.
El Presidente Posted July 8, 2010 Posted July 8, 2010 Great to see Spain get up Should be great final. I only hope Spain can unleash the 3 goals they seem to be promising but can not quite deliver.
OZCUBAN Posted July 8, 2010 Posted July 8, 2010 Go Spain The Dutch will think there in the middle of Pamplona Give me Tapas to carrots any day
MIKA27 Posted July 8, 2010 Posted July 8, 2010 Go Spain The Dutch will think there in the middle of Pamplona Give me Tapas to carrots any day Or give me Tapas to Dutch ovens any day!
mazolaman Posted July 8, 2010 Posted July 8, 2010 I thought it was quite a good tactical game. Germany were determined to camp out in defence, and then counter attack. Spain would harrass the German midfield so their playmakers didn't get a chance, and were constantly looking to attack. They deservrd their win,but they could do with some more players in the box.
Nino Posted July 8, 2010 Posted July 8, 2010 Congratulations Spain! NED vs. Spain should be a great game. Go Spain! Yep, Vamos, the cheese is waiting ......
LeafLover Posted July 10, 2010 Posted July 10, 2010 #1 Fan at the World Cup!!! Just look at the passion in her face as she cheers for her team!!!!! Sorry about the nudity. I'm certain it was a result of her crazed cheering in support of Brazil.
Habanos2000 Posted July 10, 2010 Posted July 10, 2010 5 goals in a game make for an interesting 90 minutes. Congrats to Deutschland on a fine WC and grabbing 3rd place. I see a lot of confidence in this team and expect them to be quite a threat in taking titles in the future. I hope the final is as exciting!
mazolaman Posted July 11, 2010 Posted July 11, 2010 Congratulations to Spain.on a deserved victory. Hardly a classic final,as the Netherlands tactics were a bit rough, but the right result!
Nino Posted July 11, 2010 Posted July 11, 2010 Gracias Mr Mazola, suffered somewhat, but deserved. Nino
compitaveggie Posted July 11, 2010 Posted July 11, 2010 Congrats Spain and Nino. Great game that was a nail biter. Jose
rckymtn22 Posted July 11, 2010 Posted July 11, 2010 Another dull Spanish game, with diving by both teams. FIFA has to do something. Looks like the 3rd place game might have been more exciting, hope to watch it online.
khomeinist Posted July 12, 2010 Posted July 12, 2010 3rd place game was much better. Congrats to Spain supporters. I don't know who 'deserved' it, but Spain are deserving of a World Title. Robben...c'mon bud As to Oranje tactics? So be it. They were the underdog. Van Persie? Hang it up brother. Back to rooting against you and the Goons
Bartolomeo Posted July 12, 2010 Posted July 12, 2010 Congrats to Espana, best team in the tourney Boring game but so was the last World Cup when we(Italia) won it Bart
frenchkiwi Posted July 12, 2010 Posted July 12, 2010 A very European final, physical, tight, nervy, with plenty opportunities missed on either side. Still agree with Castro it was a pity no team from the rest of the world got in! Enjoyed spanish victory in a way as from a historical perspective they were probably the best ever spanish side, whereas the dutch will always suffer in comparison with previous their WC finalist teams, total football, cruyff van basten gullit etc. but also slightly disappointing that there were no classic world cup heroes, brilliant strikers or playmakers who fired throughout the tournament ... (of those present, Forlan certainly deserved his Golden Ball) and the good players present showed their worst qualities on the day e.g. iniesta great dribbler but falls at hint of a touch, Robben has brilliant touches but ******* all day long (paradoxically he will regret not falling over), sneijder and villa not quite good enough, torres still injured etc. i regret the game - and the world cup - that could have been. The memories i will look back upon fondly will be the German (!) and Japanese teams enterprising football, Forlan throughout, Maicon, Spanish defenders Ramos and Puyol, and some overhyped euro teams getting their just deserts. And strangely enough, New Zealand being the only team who finished the tournament Undefeated !!
mazolaman Posted July 12, 2010 Posted July 12, 2010 Yeah, nice one. A revelation has been the success of the unfancied teams, and the comeuppance of many others. I felt Inniesta was the player of the tournament, doesn't go over too much.Either him or Alonso, who quietly had an excellent tournament. Robben is a nightmare, falls over a blade of grass, and cries like a baby.Van Bommel should've been sent off by half time....referee was being kind. The positive side that the Spanish side demonstrates is that EVERY player can comfortably pass the ball acurately, including the likes of Puyol,Pique etc..... To me,the sides who played this way,ie CHile,Mexico,Japan,Germany should have success in the future. Teams like my own have to change,or loose!
