PADDYWHACK121272 Posted April 14, 2010 Posted April 14, 2010 Much as I love Buena Vista Social Club and Sierra Maestra I know little else beyond that - in an effort to expand my musical horizons I have been listening to Gilles Peterson's "Havana Cultura" compilation - highly recommended - any suggestions on where to go from here?...any hardcore improvisation coming out of Cuba at the moment?!...
Colt45 Posted April 14, 2010 Posted April 14, 2010 There have been a few discussions on the topic - here's a link to a couple: Link1 Link2 I don't know how much if any of the above would be considered hardcore improvisation, but some great stuff nonetheless.

Thanks for the links Colt, will check some of that stuff out, was (half) joking about the hardcore improv....
Colt45 Posted April 14, 2010 Posted April 14, 2010 (half) joking about the hardcore improv.... There's nothing funny about hardcore improv................. My own personal all around fave would probably be ¡Cubanismo!. Many sounds and styles to explore.
