El Presidente Posted March 18, 2010 Posted March 18, 2010 It is with immense sadness that I pass on the news that great friend to the forum, great friend to Lisa, Smithy and I, Chuck Vaughan- LLoyd (Tampa 1257) passed away suddenly today at 1pm. We are distraught here as I am sure you all are in hearing this news. Chuck is a great mate of mine and FOH. His laughter, friendship, loyalty.....shared in spades. To his family I pass on our sincere condolences. I will post the funeral details tomorrow once I have received them. God Bless my friend. I will see you in the next life but I can always use another angel on my shoulder while I remain in this one. 1

Buch0 Posted March 18, 2010 Posted March 18, 2010 I just had a cold shiver run down my spine.. Absolutely shell shocked with this most horrid and sudden news. Both his presence and forever-wise contributions will be greatly missed by myself and everyone around here. I feel robbed I never got to meet you mate, my next cigar will be in your memory. shrink Posted March 18, 2010 Posted March 18, 2010 Farewell, Chuck. Though we never met in person, I always valued you as a friend. Your experience, humor and wisdom were always welcome. Thanks for everything, Chuck. We'll smoke some small ring Habanos together one day in a peaceful place where there aren't any NO SMOKING signs.

Stalebread Posted March 18, 2010 Posted March 18, 2010 Sad news. Damn. Really sad news. Tampa was one of those people on the boards who had my trust. His influence had no small part to play in me getting that box of PSdC2. I am truly sorry to learn of his death. Condolences to his family and friends.

J-ROD Posted March 18, 2010 Posted March 18, 2010 RIP my friend. I only got to talk to him on the phone a couple of times, but I always ended up laughing somewhere along the line. He will be missed and I'm saddened that we never met.
mrcoin Posted March 18, 2010 Posted March 18, 2010 I couldn't sleep for some reason tonight so I thought I'd read FOH for a while. I'm still in shock to hear this terrible news. Chuck was a great friend of mine who helped me every time I ever needed it. We have spoken by phone countless times over the many years we've known each other. I finally got to meet him in person last Sept. at a get together at a friends home in North Carolina. I will cherish that memory forever. RIP Chuck.

I'm Blown away by this news, but wanted to post in Honor of My Brother! Chuck was even nicer in person than online. He was always watching over the flock & making sure everyone was good. badhangover Posted March 18, 2010 Posted March 18, 2010 Very sad news. He gave me a jar of moonshine to drink from the first time we met at a cigar gathering. Horrible stuff, that moonshine. It's an experience I still talk about to this day. I also relate to people the friendships I've made with good people over the years in pursuit of this hobby. Chuck was both a good person and a good friend. Rest In Peace, Chuck. Rest In Peace.

BlackFriar Posted March 18, 2010 Posted March 18, 2010 Rest easy Chuck. I never did get the chance to meet you in person, but you've always brought cheer to me and others. A sad day for everyone.
cvm4 Posted March 18, 2010 Posted March 18, 2010 I hate to hear this news. Chuck was always one of those guys that shared his knowledge freely. He never minced words about who/what he supported. He's a great guy and will be truly missed. 1
