Chaki Posted March 10, 2010 Posted March 10, 2010 In no particular order: Apocalypse Now The Sting A Summer '42
MIKA27 Posted March 10, 2010 Posted March 10, 2010 Ah yes, a very quotable film: 'You're not a dog are you Gary? . . . And yet you have all the characteristics of a dog Gary . . . All except loyalty.' 'Tyrone, when you go in reverse, things come from behind.' A great quote I use often from ****** and it annoys the wife when shes in a 'mood' is; Tommy: "Who took the jam out of your Donut?" "You took the jam out of my Donut Tommy, you did."
MIKA27 Posted March 10, 2010 Posted March 10, 2010 A Better Tomorrow - Directed by John Woo, Starring Chow Yun FatLinky Saving Private Ryan Animal House Anything Directed by John Woo that has the Hong Kong greats (Actors like Donnie Yen, Chow Yun Fat, Andy Lau) is fantastic. I have to say I love: The above was later remade into 'The Departed' which was good but not as great as the original which IMO was better.
khomeinist Posted March 10, 2010 Posted March 10, 2010 Yeah! Infernal Affairs kicks ass! Eric Tsang (Jack Nicholson's role from Departed) is a beast!
lemmycaution Posted March 10, 2010 Posted March 10, 2010 I think Infernal Affairs is definately better than The Departed. Great Movie!
Buch0 Posted March 10, 2010 Posted March 10, 2010 1. Scarface 2. Fight club 3. ****** Followed closely by Shawshank Redemption and anything else with Morgan Freeman or Brad Pitt.
reg Posted March 11, 2010 Posted March 11, 2010 man, I tried to watch infernal affairs but I couldn't do it. I got through about 20 or 30 minutes before I turned it off. I'll try to give it another shot
LeafLover Posted March 11, 2010 Posted March 11, 2010 1. Scarface2. Fight club 3. ****** Followed closely by Shawshank Redemption and anything else with Morgan Freeman or Brad Pitt. Morgan is the man.....so is Denzel.
Buch0 Posted March 11, 2010 Posted March 11, 2010 Morgan is the man.....so is Denzel. Totally agree, Training Day was my favourite Denzel movie.
BigGuns Posted March 11, 2010 Posted March 11, 2010 There's also got to be a spot in here somewhere for American Psycho.
khomeinist Posted March 11, 2010 Posted March 11, 2010 There's also got to be a spot in here somewhere for American Psycho. Patrick Bateman: There is an idea of a Patrick Bateman; some kind of abstraction. But there is no real me: only an entity, something illusory. And though I can hide my cold gaze, and you can shake my hand and feel flesh gripping yours and maybe you can even sense our lifestyles are probably comparable... I simply am not there. Classic
Guest rob Posted March 11, 2010 Posted March 11, 2010 My faves are chosen simply because they touched me or wowed me the most. Movies that I remember years after the credits stopped rolling. Not in order: * Fresh * Se7en * Casino
