asmith Posted March 6, 2010 Posted March 6, 2010 My best mate is getting married in Ireland on the 16 July so I am flying into Dublin earlier that week for a quiet Guinness and cigars. So to all of our Irish clients I will be bringing along some cigars and would love to meet up for some drinks and good laughs. That part of the trip is pretty simple but the week after the wedding I'm at a loose end. Chatting with Rob last night he said throw it out there to the guys on the forum, ask them where they are and meet up with our great clients, they will be able to give you a better tour of their part of the world better than any travel guide. Not a bad idea, every now and then when the stars align Ayala has some really good ideas. So guys be it Europe, Asia or North America where will I meet you, I'll bring the cigars, you bring your great part of the world.
riderpride Posted March 6, 2010 Posted March 6, 2010 Great idea. If the wedding was a few days earlier, you could head over here to Cowtown for our Stampete July 9-18th; giant party (kinda like Vegas but with fewer morals). Big party, excessive booze, rodeo, and big concerts... just don't forget your cowboy boots. If you can't have a good time here, you don't have a pulse. http://cs.calgarystampede.com/
Colt45 Posted March 6, 2010 Posted March 6, 2010 Whatever you do, do not - repeat - DO NOT come to Boston, especially that time of year. There's too much to see and do, fun to have etc. Plus, I live close to the ocean and I know I'm not taking you to the beach, BBQing, drinking beer / wine, or the like.
Bartolomeo Posted March 6, 2010 Posted March 6, 2010 If you come to the US, would love to meet up for a smoke Bart
Ken Gargett Posted March 6, 2010 Posted March 6, 2010 you've got it wrong smithy. they send us their convicts, not the other way around. rob will be so proud. first minismithy, now the big one, off to see the world. bet he only bought you a one way ticket.
finecigar Posted March 6, 2010 Posted March 6, 2010 Hey I hope you enjoy your travels to Ireland. Such a beautiful place. Actually have a great friend who owns a cottage there in County Claire. I visit it occasionally- to bad I am not in the area this time of year. Enjoy all of the greens they say you will see in Ireland.
Jimmy2 Posted March 6, 2010 Posted March 6, 2010 NYC of course Smithy its long overdue my friend we have talked about this many times!!!!! And we have i think the most members in the tri state area i could round up a bunch to welcome you to the big apple the greatest city on the earth.
Stalebread Posted March 6, 2010 Posted March 6, 2010 I'm not sure but it seems like there are several of us now in-and-around Paris -- enough to make a visit here interesting. It's any easy tip to make from London to Paris on the Eurostar. This is where I go to smoke -- it's about the only indoor place left. Cubana Cafe Of course, in July the weather is better and the sidewalk cafes plentiful. Maybe we could even talk Guy into coming up from Calvisson.
kilroy Posted March 6, 2010 Posted March 6, 2010 You could come to Tampa... the cigar capital of the US and formerly of the entire world! Plus there is good food and hot chicks with loose morals and slightly bad vision... you'd love it!
Ryan Posted March 6, 2010 Posted March 6, 2010 Ah shite Smithy. I'm in Spain from July 3rd until 17th, but if you're here after that date at all I'd love to meet up. If not, I can certainly talk to some of the guys here to arrange a smoke or two.
aavkk Posted March 6, 2010 Posted March 6, 2010 NYC of course Smithy its long overdue my friend we have talked about this many times!!!!!And we have i think the most members in the tri state area i could round up a bunch to welcome you to the big apple the greatest city on the earth. damn straight here Smithy. Get your ass over to NYC, perfect time of year and I'm sure we could convince Colt to come down for the weekend!

Hi Smithy, I'm sure I'll be in Dublin then, so I'd be more than happy to meet up for a few cigars and many pints of Guinness. I'm sure Rob Fox, Yiorgos (Ireland's Greekest cigar smoker) and the rest of the Dublin crew would be on for a few drinks too. And I'll bring you on a tour of the Guinness brewery too if you're interested! If you want any travel advice/tips for parts of Ireland outside of Dublin just let me know. Harry
dizedean Posted March 6, 2010 Posted March 6, 2010 Smithy, Why not bring it to the east coast USA. Start in Boston then to NYC then to us in the Philly/Delaware/So. Jersey area. Lots to do and see. Plenty of places to stay. Come on over. Dean
samb Posted March 7, 2010 Posted March 7, 2010 Congrats to your friend for marriage and you for the vacation.
yahhn Posted March 7, 2010 Posted March 7, 2010 if you plan on staying in Dublin, all you have to do is walk in to every pub you pass. After you do that, find a pub that has a heated out doors section and light up. Thats why my girlfriend and I did, and we had an amazing time in the city. 5 nights 31 pubs and 50 pints later. ( Those are my stats, not ours together.) Drink the Smithwicks!
Wil Posted March 7, 2010 Posted March 7, 2010 I'd take the golf clubs and stay in Ireland! Great time of year to be there
Warren Posted March 7, 2010 Posted March 7, 2010 Why not drop into Ulster and take in a knee capping or two.
asmith Posted March 7, 2010 Author Posted March 7, 2010 rob will be so proud. first minismithy, now the big one, off to see the world. bet he only bought you a one way ticket. Ken you have it almost correct, except you seemed to have missed that you are the third piece of the puzzle. Minismithy and I may have been sent away but you have failed to notice the big hole that Rob has been digging the carpark at Czars, just big enough to fit a 6'3" wine writer with bad dress sense. You should be a little worried Kenny.
asmith Posted March 7, 2010 Author Posted March 7, 2010 Why not drop into Ulster and take in a knee capping or two. The wedding is actually in Belfast, so keen to have a look around there as well.
Kangaroo495 Posted March 8, 2010 Posted March 8, 2010 If you're feeling brave, come over to this part of the world... Though most of those who come here, never leave...
Warren Posted March 8, 2010 Posted March 8, 2010 The wedding is actually in Belfast, so keen to have a look around there as well. Take your cricket pads.
PADDYWHACK121272 Posted March 8, 2010 Posted March 8, 2010 Smithy, only seeing this now - delighted to hear you'll be visiting the auld sod and would be more then happy to meet up and show off my town when you're around - feel free to drop me a PM whenever you want...
thechenman Posted March 8, 2010 Posted March 8, 2010 Smithy...my vote would be for NYC as well. July in NYC is hot, but lots to see and plenty of women to do...I'm sure they would dig your accent. If you can't find action in a city of 8 million people, you have to be dead. But seriously...would love for you to hold a HERF in the Big Apple and get the chance to meet you. As Jimmy said...plenty of FOHers in the tri-state area.
