Jaksen Posted March 4, 2010 Posted March 4, 2010 This is my favorite bitter oak and sweet cedar cigar. It is loaded with lots of citrus on the draw, which can be more grassy if the cigar is young. The smoke is thick and building on the oaky base is a lovely creamy nutty taste. It is medium bodied and well rounded. The second inch is more sweet then sour, reminiscing of chocolate. Lovely! This is the tubos edition and a premium robusto. Absolutely one of the best from Bolivar. The Bolivar Belicosos Finos is almost the same in taste, but missing that lovely sweet and sour bit. The smoke comming from the wrapper is just heaven and delightful. I rate it 94.
Nedule Posted March 5, 2010 Posted March 5, 2010 I recently bought a 10'er of the tubos & really enjoying them.
Jaksen Posted March 6, 2010 Author Posted March 6, 2010 "Mange tak" You're welcome or "du er velkommen" ;o)
stargazer14 Posted March 6, 2010 Posted March 6, 2010 I'm going for a 10 tuber box myself, glad to hear you liked them.
alan2 Posted March 7, 2010 Posted March 7, 2010 I smoked one from a MAR 09 box last night and it was pretty good for being so young.
Jimmy2 Posted March 7, 2010 Posted March 7, 2010 They are supposed to be good young and if so they will age nicely if they not good young people wont buy them as most smoke cigars young world wide. Must say I had and aged 06 and it was excellent !!! but as I remembered they were great young in 06 ..
Rogers72 Posted March 16, 2010 Posted March 16, 2010 This may be common knowledge and I just missed it but when did Bolivar start having "Habana" and "Cuba" on the bands? All of mine have always just said "Habana" but i don't have anything newer than mid-2008 i don't think. Edited to add that I see a pic of this band on Trevor's site but it seems to imply that it is a special production band. Are these now found on standard production as well?

CigarmanTim Posted April 1, 2010 Posted April 1, 2010 Although I have never smoked the tubos version, the BRC is absolutely in my top 3 for '08 cigars......your description was spot on.
