El Presidente Posted February 22, 2010 Posted February 22, 2010 Arrived into Havana 1pm yesterday from Brasil. My mate Toby Brocklehurst kindly arranged VIP clearance through Jose Marti Airport for Des, Greg and myslef and then off to the apartment which is located on the Malecon just down from the Melia Coiba hotel. Stunning views over Havana. Met the staff and a bottle of red wine was opened as we lit RASS to just soak up the sounds of Sunday Afternoon Havana. Our chef thought it proper to feed us an early dinner of yellow rice and Lobster on the terrace before a two hour kip. 9pm, quick shower and in came Jose and Ingrid to say hello! Hugs, cigars, catch up and then off to the Nacional to say hello to Hamlet who was with Wishnu from PCC Singapore. Hugs, cigars, Catchup. Midnight and off to the Gato Tuerto. Alas Sunday is Elvis's day off so I will catch up with him later in the week. Had the immense pleasure to meet FOH member Ryan and the JJ Fox boys who as true Irishmen....were "enjoying life". We got on the turps together for the rest of the night. Home by 4am. As luck would have it...pelting down rain in Havana today. Here at the Melia Coiba tapping into their wireless internet before lunch with the PCC crew at El Templete and the opening night Habanos Event.......which is predominantly outdoors !LOL!. Jose Candia will no doubt be pulling his hair out as it is predicted to rain from the next couple of days. Will send an update and hopefully some photo's tomorrow. Keep well! Rob
