Haven't actually finished a box yet...I am a slow smoker.

But, I've been lucky. My boxes have been consistent.

Singles on the other hand...Lots of plugged and/or sour cigars. I won't buy a box if I've smoked a bad single.

I promised myself I wouldn't finish my first box until I retire by always keeping the remaining five. That's why I'm running out storage but I have been consolidating them slowly in to custom made cajones. Just need more time in the shop.

Seems to me like they are about 4 outta 5. I hurts my heart to throw out a cigar. Plugged, bad burn, etc.... They cost too much money for me to toss one out. But thinking about how many Id actually like to throw away, its not many.

For me a 3 out of 5. I just wish Habanos were more consistent with construction. I've run into issues such as plugs, tunneling, wind tunnels, soft spots, bad burns, etc. Never had a box that was 100% perfect in construction, and I don't expect it...but I have had boxes of NCs that were 100% perfect in terms of construction. Go figure...

for me, on average 5 out of 5 are smokable with the very rare bad plug. 4 out of 5 are excellent but perfect isnt always easy to come by so I voted 3 of 5

I'm far from having the most experienced palette on this forum, but based on what I have smoked I would be willing to assign 80% as a reasonable evaluation. The most consistent thus far were two boxes of SD4s from 07 (truly not a bad one in the bunch). The least consistent would have to have been a box of Juan Lopez S2s (most were good, a few were perfection, a few made smoking a pine cone seem preferable). Bolis, Montes, and Cohibas have all been in that 80% range. Verdict still out on a couple boxes of Lusis.

As I've heard others say on this forum before, for an artisan crafted item, 80% isn't too bad.

I voted 4 out of 5 but of course, not every one is perfect. The last true plug I can remember was 18 months ago, a Montecristo A. I don't know if I've been lucky or my tolerance for tight draws is more than some other guys, but I very very rarely get a real plug. Not very many true wind tunnels either come to think of it.

My focus has been on PCs and some CGs and right now the majority have been very good.

PC's have been good ,but, the most consistant boxes I have smoked in the past 3 months have been the VR unicos of 07&08.

This is one quote that reflects my thoughts exaclty, without all the cussing and fussing. If a cigar is tight it does not taste right due to poor oxidation. I have smoked two cabs of the Partagas Coronas from 02 and maybe two out of 100 were some snug but still accfepatable. I am scared to death tho break the last cab fearing that it will have 48 plugged sticks.
