Tariacuri Posted February 17, 2010 Posted February 17, 2010 I can't seem to get drunk enough to smoke off my pile of NC's.
Buch0 Posted February 17, 2010 Posted February 17, 2010 You would be surprised how many people around here smoke NC's, maybe you could try to sell them? Either that or use them as kindling for a fire..

anacostiakat Posted February 17, 2010 Posted February 17, 2010 I smoke em as well - just can't seem to find the interest in dealing with them lately. Do what I did. The majority of mine I either traded or sold.

finecigar Posted February 17, 2010 Posted February 17, 2010 I can agree with your statement -but- sometimes I am quite impressed with certain nc's flavour and beauty all around. It is rare when finding a nice nc out of all of the options they offer nowadays. I would stick to cubans, personally. An occasional nc, but mostly cubans. What certain nc are you having issues with, or is it just all of them in a whole?

What certain nc are you having issues with, or is it just all of them in a whole? Honestly I'm mostly having space issues, probably should just suck it up and buy another wine cooler, rather then playing Tetris all the time. And I was also just being an A$$. I smoke my share of NC's and keep Padron's, El Original's, and some other stuff around. But I always seem to collect strays and other stuff I don't want to deal with - I mostly end up giving them away over the summer to folks who won't care. But more and more I smoke half of an NC, toss it, and go grab a CC.
LiLo Posted February 18, 2010 Posted February 18, 2010 I smoke probably 60 percent cubans and 40 percent non cubans. I like to mix it up. There are a lot of great NC's out there.
rrechtien Posted February 18, 2010 Posted February 18, 2010 I still have mostly NC's, and I think the biggest reason why is because I'm a new smoker (I guess 2 years now) so I'm still smoking as many different brands/sizes/wrappers/countries to develop a taste for what I like. I only recently purchased CC's because you cannot find a lot of samplers of CC's like you can NC's, and I often hear that you have to worry about fakes when buying singles of CC's as opposed to boxes. Not to mention that boxes of CC's can be quite expensive when my wife and I are both teachers in one of the lowest paying schools in our area. Now that I have some CC's, I still like my NC's, but I can definitely start to taste the different flavors that come out of the CC's more (though its still hard to place what the flavors are.) rechtien
MIKA27 Posted February 18, 2010 Posted February 18, 2010 But more and more I smoke half of an NC, toss it, and go grab a CC. That's the way! With the NC's however, they can be quite expensive to purchase only to throw half away. A bit of a waste of money that you could use to buy CC's.

Anyways, they don't deserve to be smoked most times. Maybe someday they will be more exciting. Until then, smoke whatever you find the best and if your not enjoying a cigar then don't bother to smoke the rest. There is many ways to just simply end your streak of confusion/ space issues/ etc. Wish the best! Enjoy your Cubans
Trevor2118 Posted February 18, 2010 Posted February 18, 2010 I can't seem to get drunk enough ........................ Your just not trying!
Professor Twain Posted February 18, 2010 Posted February 18, 2010 Mail them to the troops in Iraq or Afghanistan... I did that when I made the switch to CCs and they were MUCH appreciated.
Buch0 Posted February 18, 2010 Posted February 18, 2010 Mail them to the troops in Iraq or Afghanistan... I did that when I made the switch to CCs and they were MUCH appreciated. Wow that's an idea if I have ever heard one.. How were you sure they received them? I can imagine even an NC would be like heaven in that sort of situation.

josie67 Posted February 18, 2010 Posted February 18, 2010 I sold all my NC's. Sorry but what pieces of crap lol
android Posted February 18, 2010 Posted February 18, 2010 I have thought the same about many other aspects of my life but I an tolerate a Padron every know and then.
Kangaroo495 Posted February 18, 2010 Posted February 18, 2010 I find NCs very useful for "converting" people to cigar smoking. For a beginner, a lot of them are quite manageable, plus they look cool. So if you need some more smoking buddies, use the NCs to get people interested in cigars. I've done it a few times, and (in the very beginning) that's how someone got me hooked!
Rogers72 Posted February 18, 2010 Posted February 18, 2010 I get them often as gifts from friends and family. I just put them in the humidor and give them away whenever I've got a mooch at my house.
dicko Posted February 18, 2010 Posted February 18, 2010 only NC's I have enjoyed have been padrons. can smoke cohiba's for less though. I do get a hankering for that NC taste sometimes and enjoy them but maybe in a 10:1 ratio with CC's. that said haven't tried many premium ones, either to $$ or hard to find a good source where I am
thechenman Posted February 18, 2010 Posted February 18, 2010 It is all a matter of taste. Smoke what you like....like what you smoke...
samb Posted February 18, 2010 Posted February 18, 2010 I think there are some really good NCs out there. I wont spend my money on them though. I dont have the funds to buy both great NCs and Cubans.
Professor Twain Posted February 19, 2010 Posted February 19, 2010 Wow that's an idea if I have ever heard one.. How were you sure they received them? I can imagine even an NC would be like heaven in that sort of situation. I got one name from a MySpace group that Tampa leads. I sent this guy and his Marine buddies cigars over a period of months. They sent me pictures back, some of them are shown below. I also got a name from a guy from this Board, an army Lieutenant. In every case I have received nice thank you notes back. The guys were very appreciative. The Marines actually signed a flag for me and mailed it to me as a gift. That was kick ass!
Buch0 Posted February 19, 2010 Posted February 19, 2010 Would of indeed been a great feeling getting back those photos along with the letters and flag. I feel guilty these charitable acts pass my train of thought most of the time
